There is a good deal of possibility that the story won't ressonate with you, but hey you are on Veeky Forums...
You probably will see much of yourself in Jude and you'll feel rather gloomy.
After I read (and during it) I felt bad BUT the melancholy only took me a few months later.
I was thinking about the book and how I knew many (and I was to some extent) like Jude and started to realize my situation was no good.
An amazing book, it will hit you like a train, even if it takes time
