I'm looking for some mind blowing Universal scale metaphors.
Descriptions such as, if Earth were a football, the Sun would be a 7 story building and UY Scuti would be 4 times the size of Everest etc.
I am becoming completely obsessed with the scale of the universe, the massive celestial bodies it contains and the expanses of time and distance involved. Its actually become a sort of therapy for me to put things in perspective.
A side question, is it true that stars can't get much bigger than UY Scuti or else they collapse? Is it possible there are stars out there that could dwarf even this absolute monster star?
UY Scuti's mass is only 7x the Sun. Think about that.

An atom is more empty than our solar system

Pfft, what a lightweight faggot of a star
Isaac Brooks
There are more stars in our galaxy than atoms in the universe.
Christian Parker
There are more galaxies in an atom than modest, pure, 3d waifus on Earth.

put that on a T-shirt and sell it to retards.

Equivalent of a red blood cell to your mom.

Imagine building a map of the entire observable universe (the sphere that we can see), then make it as large as the Earth.
Alpha Centuri is half a millimetre away from our Sun. The Milky Way is about seven metres wide, Andromeda is 350 metres away, and light takes 70 years to travel one centimetre.
Jeremiah Hall
You to the solar system I'd guess

We don't know the scale of the universe but We know the scale of the observable universe.
It's about 243 Billion lightyears (Gly) or more.
Dylan Green
186000 miles per second Non stop for 243 billion years
Is that how it works?
Zachary Brown
No. 14 Billion years plus inflation.

If you were to somehow stop the universe from expanding, yes, it would take light 243 billion years to travel from one end of the observable universe to the other, from out perspective.

If you need to be told how huge things are in space, then let me tell you this
Your universe is as big as your momma.
Other than that, you can google up the various size by yourself. There exist various scales to represent how things look like
