it obviously depends on your definition of color, however, brightness and darkness are registered in the eyes with a different mechanism than colorvision (dark-light = rods, colors=cones)

Depends on the context you use it in. For example, in design you would consider them colors, while in physics you might define colors by frequency given off, so pure black could be no color.

Depends on context. In artistic fields both are considered colors. In science I'd say only white is a color but with the context that there is no wavelength for white light.
Side note that artistic fields also claim that yellow is one of the 3 primary colors, instead of green. Idk why though.

just realize people had posted very similar things, to clarify, "artistic", "drawing", etc. are all synonyms being used to describe pigment, the term you are looking for.
"Physics", "science", "real color" is looking for the term light
