Mad?

Dickens is a fraud, this is pretty much an early commie novel
>muh money is bad

Who is it a strawman against you faggot? Greedy people?

i just like creepy symbolic ghosts ok

Yes

How so?

It's a stawman against Jews.

Ebenezer Scrooge is about as transparent a name as naming your character "Shill Shekelstein."

It details Scrooge's late-in-life conversion to Christianity after a lifetime of miserliness and exploitation of the local Christian paupers.

The three ghosts are allegories for the trinity.

I'm surprised how little people acknowledge this. I would've thought modern liberals would denounce this tale by now, but it's too ingrained in the public consciousness, like the antisemitism of the book of John.

Interesting, I didn't know Scrooge was a jewish name.

Oh and Tiny Tim with his Crucifix Crutch and double-T alliterative name is obviously a small Jesus allegory.

His crutch serves simultaneously as his crucifix, and his shepherd's staff. His near-death at the hands of illness is Christ's sacrifice. Scrooge's decision to let go of worldly riches and to help others incidentally saves Tim but really it saves Scrooge's soul.

Tim is an opportunity for scrooge to save his soul through works.

The ghosts are an opportunity for scrooge to save his soul through belief.

It's a parody of a Hebrew name.
Ebenezer however is a Hebrew name.

Honestly surprised /pol/ocks such as yourself ('commie' and 'muh' gave it away, if you're curious) haven't latched on to Scrooge for what he is: An old-time criticism of Jewish Miserliness in the vain of Shakespeare's Shylock.

As for the socialist thread that runs through this story, understand that Socialism and Christianity were once tightly linked forces in populations of working class people.

But Shylock did nothing wrong.

No less, when he was written, he was written as a half-sympathetic character meant to demonstrate both the supposed flaws and the undeniable humanity of the jewish people. So too with Ebenezer.

The miserliness stereotype comes from Catholic restrictions on Usury and people looking for a way around this by consulting the local Jews for loans. People only give loans at a guaranteed profit, so Jews became known as money lenders. They were driven from other professions by Christian hegemony, but needed to be kept around for fiscal purposes.

FUK

DICKENS

yup

Damn didn't know Dickens was so red-pilled.

>Three ghosts are allegories.
The author is dead!! Didnt you get the memo??
The three ghosts represent my cock, my dick and my penis

3 dick faget

you can't strawman a """people""" that are a caricature of themselves.

The jews weren't "needed" for any purpose any more than sub-legal ghetto hustlers are needed nowadays, your defense of usury by parroting tired cannards about christian antisemitism is really pathetic

>this book is a strawman
>oh, it's redpilled so it is ok
