Bill Nye has published numerous papers and holds several patents.

He just also makes money making entertainment shows with a scientific bent.

I don't get why people hate on him so hard. He's just trying to educate young people and get brainlets interested in science. Same with Bill Nye. Sure, they're a little arrogant and have inflated egos, but if you, as a post-highschool person with an education in science, are paying any attention to what they have to say, you're doing it wrong.
