is this what comp sci fags actually believe?

No, it's the other way around.
Mathematics is a subcategory of computer science.
> Falling for the Curry-Howard meme
> Confusing a formalism for mathematical reasoning
> Thinking the brain is a computer
> Thinking the mind is a computer or computer software
> Thinking CS departments at US schools other than Caltech, Princeton and MIT produce graduates who can actually do math
Suck my cock dude
...
Mathematics is factually a subset of philosophy
>"Mathematics isn't a branch of philosophy"
>is this what math fags actually believe?
philosophy is a subset of theology
philosophy is a subset of logik
I don't think people that shit on CS here, actually fucking read CS books.
Berkeley, Stanford, and CMU do a good job too.
That's backwards. Theology is shitty philosophy.
There is no philosophy without God.
...
sure thing champ, very convincing argument you have there
What argument?
There was no valid point to argue against.
it's okay buddy, we can't all be intelligent enough to be atheist. Somebody needs to clean the toilets after all
>us math dudes don't care about cs at all haha
>make a billion threads a day about it
pick one and stay jelly amiga
You don't argue against points you consider valid you retard.
And this is why everyone views atheists as insufferable autists.
Wow, your mud slinging is such a convincing argument.
type theory is a subject of math
CS is a subset of math
the Church-Turing thesis is not a thesis in either CS, math or physics, or any science for that matter
...
Logic is a branch of philosophy you retard.
>You don't argue against points you consider valid you retard.
Wrong.
desu i like both math and cs
logic is a subset of philosophy
>There is no philosophy without God.
This is one of the dumbest post i ever read on Veeky Forums and i'm christian lmao
not true, but based
>berkeley
shit tier public school overrun by liberals
>your liberal idiots are especially bad so your university is bad :^)
>your shit smells worse than mine so you're worse
the berkeley math department is still top tier
t. stanford/mit reject
hey guys I really want to study computer science, but will I get bullied for choosing it?
can anyone validate my choice before I dedicate to 7 years of computer science
go ahead computer science is decent if you do top tier stuff like algorithms and data structures or theory of computation
no, easy money, if you have autism you'll excel.
>wiping_tears_with_money.gif
Hey user
Who cares if you're bullied, mathcucks don't make any money and we make 6 figures straight out of college
...
Every school is "overrun by liberals" on account of the visible link between educated and left leaning political ideology and the metric mountain of evidence supporting it.
Berkeley is still gay though
>he thinks computer science is about computers
>Thinks he's smarter than John Von Neumann
>One of his few published books is called "The Computer & The Brain" saying you're wrong
>Kys
This has to be a troll, all of these points are fucking retarded
Literally everything is a subset of mathematics
>brainlets didn't read hamann
>Thinking John Von Neumann was a computer ((((scientist)))) not a physicist
Kys
wait... did you actually read that book, because that's not what it says?
Mathematics are hard man..
>philosophy
u can't no nuffin
>science
can't see it, isn't there
>math
make up a theory that no one can disprove because lol pure
Who cares about what Veeky Forums dorks says? I just come for this board for the lol
Go read SICP. You cannot tell me after that computer science is not just applied mathematics.
If you get bullied and actually get offended by it, you deserve to be bullied simply by that fact. Just walk away, like nigga close your eyes.
philosophy is a subset of physics
Not historically though. Physics is a subset of philosophy. See Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy by newton. He was a philosopher, not a physicist.
m'lady.
SICP is a highschool level textbook. Stop pretending like it's some graduate manuscript.
>Implying CompSci isn't just an excuse for neckbeards to leave their mother's basements for some low-effort, low-quality "science"
>codemonkeying is computer science
low effort bait
Programming is lots of fun I like it
Of course these are trivial, they are introductions. Everything in undergrad, no matter what field you are in, is trivial to complete. Concrete Math especially is great for high school students who want experience doing some interesting math outside the confines of boring pre calc and algebra calculating.
The hard part comes in solving the many hard problems using computation, which is really what compsci is.
Try this, write a flow chart for any algorithm you can think up or simply use Euclid's algorithm for GCD. Label each step with assertions that prove the validity of each algorithm step. Now, since this is so "easy", prepare a program that accepts as input another program together with optional assertions, and your program should fill in the remaining assertions automatically so when I load it into a proof assistant it returns as valid. Try it with Euclid's GCD. Remember this is """easy""" right
don't care when I'm making 98,000 a year
"Philosopher" meant scientist in those days.
Fuck off cunt. Those are actually good books
nigga gtfo its hard af so let us believe we are superior
cs is a joke. The 7 years of "study" will be time lost. But at least you'll learn to code, which is very useful.
