Once upon a time, dinosaurs ruled this planet

Once upon a time, dinosaurs ruled this planet.

What if we're wiped out by an asteroid like they were?

It would suck

We are much more resilient than dinosaurs. It might hurt our numbers, but there are few natural disasters that could actually wipe out the human race.

Also I guess we can detect asteroids coming to Earth and do something about it. Like send a cruise missile to blow it up or something.

If dinosaurs wanted to survive then maybe they should have invented telescopes lmao

Blowing it up is easily the most retarded (and in some cases impossible) method to solve the issue, you would nudge it slightly while its still far away so it misses. It would depend on the size of the asteroid if we would just get fucked by it, if we detected it very late and it was also very massive its riperino our species

>what if we all become animists and worship the circle of life?
savages. Veeky Forums is full kike at this point.

We almost certainly will be at some point. Which is why the “we have to fix Earth before worrying about colonizing other planets” crowd is pants on head retarded.

Thousands of years of pain staking effort rekt in a second.

LOL!

that's fucking amazing

The asteroid did not kill them, the shortage in food from the nuclear winter like effect is what killed them. Since humans are smaller we would survive a meteor collision better than dinos.

God would send the meteor to Europe and everyone except Blacks would die in the nuclear winter.

I guess the scenarios vary quite substantially.
If the object colliding with earth was big enough it could obliterate the entire planet.

Big impact but not big enough to destroy planet: massive technological/infrastructure failures. Huge population loss etc but highly unlikely to cause extinction. Nuclear winter kind of vibe.

Small impact, localized damage, basically a meme-impact

There is incredibly low probability that the asteroid that fucked with the dinosaurs was not artificially sent to Earth by alien life forms.

Look into relativistic kill vehicles. The dinosaurs was so successful that the changed the temperature of the planets, which aliens would have been able to monitor. There is only on mathematical sound way to respond to life that is able to change its home planet. Kill it. We are counting days anons.

>if we don't stop global warming aliens will blow us up with a huge bomb just like they did to the dinosaurs!!!
>this is what climatefags seriously believe

lol what an idiot

The point is that when you detect life on other planets, your best bet is to nerf it lest it nerf you.

You dont think the radio waves we have been ejecting into space for the past 100 years or so woul be a bigger red flag than the slight warming of our atmosphere? Or how about the fact that the night time side of our planet fucking glows? I know you are baiting but that is unironically one of the stupidest posts ive ever seen on Veeky Forums

So they invested enough resource and time to make an rkv and successfully killed a bunch of big lizards yet they've allowed us to reach our current level of technology and don't seem to care? Interesting

the day will come the humans will believe in computer power to observe it and we will believe in its results. and that day is called dooms day

So maybe there was intelligent dinosaurs sending radio waves? There would be no traces of their civilization now.

AY YO HOL UP HOL UP
>has arms too short and stubby to use tools
SO U BE SAYIN
>brain the size of a peanut
WE WUZ RADIOZ N SHEEEIT?????
>gets trapped in amber for millions of years

Well maybe they left Earth before the impact and are now the reptilians??

>We are much more resilient than dinosaurs
No we are not, biodiversity and complexity are at a low point in evolutionary history, with the anthropocene mass extinction event and all. We are far less resilient than the dinos . Right now we are closer to the adaptive capacity of the world post jurassicTriassic extinction event than to le ebin Dino age
It's very likely that our species won't make it another 1000 years, due to the evolutionary traps

Why do people always say Dinosaurs ruled the Earth. Surely they were just chilling as part of the ecosystem greater only in size to any other part.

Pfft not with that attitude.

Within 1000 years Asteroids can have the Earth.

Then we would all be dead.

It would be extremely painful

bullshit

Some other life would take over after we are gone
Assuming everything died but some primitive Archaea or something it's only got 5 billion more years to evolve before the Sun swallows the Earth so it better hurry

Earth will be uninhabitable in another billion years or so. The sun is slowly getting hotter as it ages, which will eventually trigger a runaway greenhouse effect similar to what is going on with Venus.

Its not a greenhouse effect if its just increased energy output from the sun. Are you aware of how a greenhouse works?

Hopefully some will survive for enough time to refurnish all of humanity. I hope it is small enough to only affect the size of niggerland though
