Pic is the function Si(x), the integral of sinx/x.
What is your favourite Math function?
mine is the la place transform.
[math]
\int_{0-}^{\infty} f(t).e^{-st}.dt
[/math]
...
Equations? Or any other means to construct it on a computer? Thanks...
The classic!
>not liking the superior Fourier Tranform
usually through it's definition
/math /int /delta (x-x_0) f (x) dx = f (x_0)
Well, fuck me
No problem, happens to the best of us...
One can like both, matter of personal interest after all
Laplace transform is the generalization of the Fourier. Kill yourself
If the Fourier exists it is superior though
sum of all positive integers = -1/12
Here, have your Fields
...
[math]
y=sinx
[/math]
z=e^(iθ)
I'm a simple man
The basics are always the best.
Nope, you're complex
This one is formed by joining only straight lines
>Post functions
>Doesn't post a function
Arctan(x)
My personal favorite is pretty simple but its also nice and comfy.
f(0) = 1
f(1/3) = maximum
f(1) = 1
f(2) = 3
Zeta(s)...
Of course.
[math]f(x) = \frac{1}{{\sigma \sqrt {2\pi } }}e^{{{ - \left( {x - \mu } \right)^2 } \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {{ - \left( {x - \mu } \right)^2 } {2\sigma ^2 }}} \right. \kern-\nulldelimiterspace} {2\sigma ^2 }}}[/math]
Because the central limit theorem shows why so many things are approximately normally distributed. It's not like one guy invented something that's cool according to his personal taste. It's something we find everywhere in the entire universe and we even know the reason why (the central limit theorem).
Besides that, Gauß was a badass and I live less than 1 km from the house where he grew up.
what's wrong with Veeky Forums?
Anyway, enlarge the picture if you want to see the formula
Lol so ist man natürlich nicht allzu anonym.
Btw: In the jar the lady is holding is Carl Friedrich Gauß' brain
dann komm mich mal besuchen
Bessel function is pretty fucking cool
They sure are, but everything is so nasty to do with them ;-;
Having said that, spherical harmonics are probably the coolest functions that I can think of rn
Lol I posted a graph plot instead of a function...
Seducing a woman is like the 2arctan(x) function.(no matter how hard you try, you never get to the pi)
Normal distribution FTW
Is there a name to the function? Any mathematical formula that describes it for the reals? Thanks!
Yet another classic!
I agree, they're wonderful!
>All these tryhard functions
the identity map is the patrician's choice
>your favourite Math function
Mine is the Dirac Delta Function, bcoz it so
effectively triggarz the retards to whine that
"it's not a function", L0L
Tell me about it, any peculiar reason to like the identity function(or identity map as you call it)?
To be honest tho it's derivative looks more of a function than itself
...
with you there. in fact diac impulse function can be defined by la place. The dirac is the inverse lp of 1 btw
Yeah it is superior. FT might give you a clue whats in a signal. LP lets you design elecronics to alter that signal. FT is analytical only. LP is both analytical and useful.
Only if theta is not either 0 or 180...
Trivial
Looks great...
>Gaussian distribution
Try again.
