I've never understood Darwin's theory of "selection"...

I've never understood Darwin's theory of "selection". There's no such thing as "consent" in animals so how can the females "select" which males they want to mate with? It’s all rape. Sometimes the male animals have "competitions" where they fight each other and during all this an animal in the background sneaks behind them and has quick sex with one of the females and runs off after depositing his seed inside her. It's survival of the luckiest, not the fittest.

Your premise is wrong.

>There's no such thing as "consent" in animals
Source?

What's a female animal gonna do if a male animal gets on top of her without her consent? Call the cops?

>It's survival of the luckiest, not the fittest.
yes sometimes the luckiest becomes the fittest
sometimes the fastest, sometimes the strongest, sometimes the most coward
in the back perspective, the one who survived and had success, was the fittest
you cant determine it beforehand

-Females are larger and stronger in many species
-Social structures inhibit certain behaviors, eg in canines and giant otters that form packs with dominant breeding pairs.
-Neurological factors. Natural disinclination to rape, etc.

Why don't you rape every cutie you see, user?

>-Females are larger and stronger in many species
>Human females aren't
What did nature mean by this?

>I've never understood Darwin's theory of "selection"

That rape is okay

Procreation #rape

It's called fittest not strongest, most outgoing, biggest, etc.

Fittest means best able to mate, if rape makes you fit then rape will be a selected trait. The only thing that really matters is if you're able to pass your genes down. No other trait matters if you can't procreate.

The animal is being 'selected' by whether it can survive in its environment and pass on its genes, not that it's 'selected' by the female (although that is one more obstacle to overcome).

Life isn't all just mating, sometimes you have to find food or not be killed by predators.

The other male(s) beat the shit out of the male trying rape the female, while the female is attacking it. This makes it 2 on 1. It also depends on species, rape does happen though. How frequent depends on the species and their distribution of sexual strategies.

>it's all rape
kek
"Selection" doesn't mean "female selects male" it means that the alleles that allow a creature to reproduce are "selected" for in the offspring. And there's a degree of randomness

animals who rape the best, reproduce the best.

if rape is the best way for that species to pass down their genetics then they will do it. an interesting case is: ducks have intricate anti-rape vagina and extremely rapey dicks.

this "fittest" doesn't mean some meme about being strong or righteous. Regression in all things could mean that you are fitter than your peers, in the case of a shift in environment that destroys your previous way of living, like not having enough food or the right food.

>Rape

There is not such thing, animals don´t fuck recreacionally like humans do...

Females usually have sex when they are in the heat, so males fight and the winner fuck her, if there ain´t a smart fella who goes around and fuck her like you said.

Rape like in humans societies does not exist in animal kingdoms, the female fucks the male who can handle her and the male fuck who can he handle.

There is not love and all that shit, most females look for a male who can take care of her, while they will fuck anyone if the possibility presents.

Just like humans

Rape is never a good thing because even if you're talking about it in this kind of a context it's directly going against sexual selection. If a male can't mate it's because he's a bad choice or it was a bad time (also making him a bad choice in terms of selection) but either way raping the female just tosses away all the behaviors that have led to sexual selection in the first place.

Probably because we're social so height has little to do with sex.

>either way raping the female just tosses away all the behaviors that have led to sexual selection in the first place
Not if it successfully gets him offspring

>I've never understood sexual selection
Lrn2biology fgt pls

Tell that to birds
