Let's make a site that shows the best passages of every book so

that people can test-drive the book instead of having to potentially waste days of their life reading hundreds of pages.

We haven't had a project in a while. How about it?

makes no sense

or maybe you just can't grasp simple concepts?

Gay as fuck. It would only help the weak and the uneducated. Get the fuck out.

i understand it. it just makes no sense since doing it would be retarded

Holy shit dude, have you been browsing this board for the past hour?

Get a life

>. It would only help the weak and the uneducated.
Only the weak and uneducated read every single thing they get their hands on.

The smart read only that which is most profound.

Get on my level scrub

Don't you just hate it when you're really hyped to see a movie because of the awesome trailer and after seeing the movie you realize that the best parts where in the trailer and the movie was not as great as you hoped?
That's your plan for books..

epic, really activated the almonds

I got tricked really hard by this recently with Beyond the Black Rainbow. Fucking terrible film. Excellent trailer.
really takes my nut out of a rut

>Don't you just hate it when you're really hyped to see a movie because of the awesome trailer

I don't think I've ever experienced that, sorry.

But then again I don't watch the type of pop drivel that has trailers in the first place.

Reading certain passages in a book will give you a sense of the author's style of writing and his general message.

Bad idea, most best passages only make sense in context. You could only really do this with long poems.

I can show you good sentences in bad books and bad sentences in good books.
Judging a book by one sentence is just lazy, unpatient and narrow-minded,
It says about as much about the book as the cover..

But that's stupid.

Quotes without context are retarded

wow dude, what a profound comment

Yes, this would be like making music playlists. Some songs are suited to playlists but you'll be missing out on great songs by ignoring the album.

>test-drive the book
disgusting

>Bad idea, most best passages only make sense in context.

"Most best"

Come on nigga, just admit that my plan will work

Passages. Not sentences. If a writer can't write a single good passage in hundreds of fucking pages, then he's a fuggin hack

The message > context

It is.

There are thousands of thousands of books you will never read, solely because it is impossible to read even 0.01% of all great books.

So fucking what if you skip one book because its style didn't appeal to you? There are hundreds more to replace it.

u made?

We already have that. It's called Wikiquote

Thx

Also goodreads quotes

Get's lost without context
