Do birth control pills have more severe and more common side effects than people are willing to admit? Are they really healthy?

They make girls crazy, see modern SJWs.

Any time you mess with hormones there are side-effects, but other than general moodiness and maybe light weight gain the pill is innocuous. We have several longitudinal studies on it, this is not some 'Big Pharma' conspiracy or 'Big Brother Leftie' agenda. It does what it says on the tin; prevents pregnancy with a small margin of error.

>'Big Brother Leftie'
Er, Orwell was a lifelong socialist.

He was still hugely against totalitarianism and didnt hesitate to criticize communism a la animal farm

Who was deeply critical of both radical socialism during the Spanish Civil War and Bolshevism, especially its efforts to export the revolution through the ComIntern. These are all digressions from what I was referring to in my post, which was the tendency of this site's cryptofascist community of blaming everything on vast left-wing government conspiracies.

>Do birth control pills have more severe and more common side effects than people are willing to admit?

Yes.

>Are they really healthy?

Not at all. They totally fuck up people on a mental and physical level for the rest of their life. It is like a chemical switch thrown that can never be undone. Fuck me for not remembering the science papers and links for this shit. I'm terrible at remembering proper jargon.

if this is the case then why are a good 10%+ of women on it? why don't they realize what is happening and stop taking it?

Unpack these statements. What does it 'fuck up' mentally and physically in patients? How does it occur?

Women use it because it's effective in preventing unwanted pregnancies. If there are side-effects then they aren't readily apparent, and they don't seem severe enough to dissuade people from continuing the treatment.

>implying the butterfly effect is a meme

What is it that you think is happening? What is your thesis statement?

>X doesn't influence Y implies nothing can influence anything else

they correlate with cancers

They get pissed out into the water supply and consumed by men.

Show me the data. I want to know which cancers, the metrics of the study conducted, and if its been repeated.

Obesity causes more natural estrogen in modern man than any trace amounts in filtered tap water.

slight increase in risk of VTEs (though smaller than the increase in risk during pregnancy), if you have an oestrogen sensitive breast cancer it will worsen prognosis, chance of decrease in libido, and a chance of depressive mood swings. keep in mind not e.veryone who takes the pill will experience these side effects

source: I'm a pharmacist

Actual pharmacist or pharmacy tech?

actual pharmacist, though i am only in my internship year

Less severe effects than pregnancy, to be sure.
