Is this really a paradox?

Is this really a paradox?
>evolution on Earth went on for billions of years, a significant portion of the entire lifespan of the universe so far, without producing a single civilization capable of sending and receiving interstellar messages. Therefore even where life-supporting planets exist, it is not inevitable that there will ever be advanced civilization
>we have no reason to think such a civilization will tend last very long on a geologic time scale in the cases where one does appear
>the universe is really fucking big and FTL communication/travel are impossible

While the Drake equation says otherwise maybe aliens just have a prime directive thing going on

Fermi paradox is literally pseudoscience, only popsci retards fall for it

Eager to hear what you think the Drake equation "says".

No, it is a bullshit fantasy idea that ____ has to happen when it doesn't.

The Drake equation makes some huge assumptions and is likely wrong

It says hello

>we have no reason to think such a civilization will tend last very long on a geologic time scale in the cases where one does appear
Then the great filter(s) exists and that's the answer to the problem.

Civilization is a human phenomenon. Looking for a civilization outside of Earth is like looking for humans outside of Earth.

It's not even a paradox. It's just an argument for the extreme unlikelihood of humans ever making contact with another intelligent civilization. Its main flaw is that it presupposes that the conditions on Earth can be assumed to exist universally and objectively. The same goes for the Drake equation. It's an illogical theorem because we don't know that it is the case that other intelligent life evolves/evolved in the same way we have.

These theories rely on false premises, much like mathematics. :^)

can you imagine if in a few million years it turns out humanity turns out to be one of the 'eldar races' amongst the universe...

The only mystery is brainlets brains who continues to fall for popsci.

We will give birth to Slaneesh first :^)

we are the aliens.
mystery solved.

Oh god no

>making a statistical argument when you don't know any of the variables or chances for any of its components
brilliant science, 10/10.
Why is FTL communication/travel impossible?
Not sure which is scarier, that, or if we are not alone.

...

Because then time travel "backwards" would be possible and all questions on Veeky Forums would be answered before they're posted.

Actually you should go a negative velocity
Is easy thing to do on paper
But unfortunaly didn't work on reality

P.s.
The space can move faster than light
So just move the space all around ja and boom ftl

we thought of that
If you travel faster than light, you can travel to a location and send a message to before you even left
