I would say that I'm impressed with the Bible's scientific accuracy, but seeing as all of those scientific facts were well known by the Greeks, Romans, Egyptians, and Sassanids, I'm actually not impressed at all.
I would say the "Science Then" column is wrong, but someone would probably bust out some quote from some Germanic or African tribe as their proof.

There may be truth to this.
At first they thought giving a transfusion of young blood to old people would make them younger, but they corrected the study. There's nothing in young blood that makes you old, just the opposite. There's something in old blood that makes you old. Bleeding or removing this old blood could make you younger. There is clear evidence that blood donors live younger, tho this has been attributed to the fact donors live healthier lives, it may have been attributed incorrectly. It's possible that donating blood makes people healthier.
This is in line with the original logic on why blood letting was a cure all. They figured since women live longer, and women loose blood once a month that bleeding must be making them younger and healthier.
Bleeding isn't a cure all like they once believed, but it's very possible we'll soon learn it can extend the human live and improve general health.
