Brain food to make me smarter?

Athletes have a special diet catered to their goals. Similarly, I want a special diet that will maximize my performance academically, problem solving, etc and get better grades

What food/diet should I consume to improve my memory/problem solving/overall brain function?

amphetamines

Ketogenic, the brain uses beta-hydroxybutyrate which has been shown to improve memory/cognition in both healthy and impaired people.

-Gotu kola
-Celastrus paniculatus (seed)
-Licorice root in small doses
-Ginseng (if female, estrogenic activity can be problematic in males with long term or acute doses)
-Cacao nibs or powder, fermented or roasted. Not processed with alkali. Not used longer than cycles of 4 days, with 4-5 days in between.
-Adequate nutrition, especially magnesium and selenium, and antioxidants. Vitamin C and E.
-Elimination of exposure to microwave emitting devices.

The last one is the most important. If not taken seriously, the rest might as well be damage control / masking your decay.

I remember reading a study about glucosamine sulfate, which is sold as an otc remedy for arthritis. The study was inconclusive about its effectiveness for that. But they unexpectedly found that it is effective for growing new brain neurons. I guess you could look into that if you're interested.

Also this:
Yerba mate and cacao, as well as eliminating exposure to microwaves, will improve insulin resistance and make your body better at lipolysis and ketosis. Getting garbage out of your diet overall is important, obviously. Garbage in, garbage out.

This is retarded. The brain runs on glucose, you should be eating a lot of sugary fruits and low to no meat.

(Both Ilex paraguaranesis, yerba mate, and Ilex guayusa, guayusa, seem to be effective.)

balanced diet, this isn't hard idiots

whatever you want senpai-sama

Like a microwave? My cellphone? How have I not heard of this before

Try Noopept

it switches... maybe do 1 second of research before blabbering on like an idiot

Wifi, cell phones, bluetooth. High frequency transients and harmonics generated in house wiring by modern switched mode power supplies as well, but that's at another level of feasibility, as is most ELF and VHF stuff.

It's a complex topic, but these are good overall reviews. The hippocampus (esp dentate gyrus) and hypothalamus are particularly affected. Mechanism is primarily altered Ca2+ flux, and subsequent oxidative stress.

I also recommend the book "Pathological Effects of Radio Waves" by Tolgskaya, 1995. It's a review of all Russian language literature published from 1940 - 1970. They recognized and accepted what they were seeing, and their public exposure limit is 1000 times lower than ours (though still not low enough). We barely bother to enforce ours, in the US, at this point.

Many other sources are available if you're interested.

>The diet forces the body to burn fats rather than carbohydrates. Normally, the carbohydrates contained in food are converted into glucose, which is then transported around the body and is particularly important in fueling brain-function. However, if there is very little carbohydrate in the diet, the liver converts fat into fatty acids and ketone bodies. The ketone bodies pass into the brain and replace glucose as an energy source.
It's meant to treat epilepsy in children, dunno if it's really beneficial outside of successfully doing that.

Life without microwave ovens is extremely impractical though.

This is the guy you're responding to. He's insane and will willingly mislead people due to his asshurt that doctors don't take him seriously.

How has noone posted the *actual* answer yet?
OP you need omega-3, omega-6 and omega-9 fatty acids. Those are literal brain foods.

>I want a special diet that will maximize my performance academically, problem solving, etc and get better grades
It's called doing lots of practice

No food at all for 10+ days. Last time I did it I observed myself becoming more intelligent literally every day, at the apex people questioned me and asked me for my cognition enhancing drug. The only reason I stopped is because people forced me to.

Nnnnope : your brain needs energy in order to do its job, right? I don't think that depriving it from most of the energy it depends on will make it work better...

Unless you have zero body fat your brain will still get plenty of energy

>Brain is largely cholesterol
>Don't consume meat!
What did the brainlet mean by this?

Ketone bodies are only used in metabolism in extremely catabolic "let's leave what little glucose there is left for the poor red blood cells that have no mitochondria" states.

This metabolic state is currently only being experienced by people in Africa.

Literally every cell contains cholesterol in their membranes to regulate their rigidity. Also, cholesterol is the molecule from which sexual hormones are derived. It's way too important to not be an essential molecule so cells are capable of synthesizing it.

The organism can synthesize all the cholesterol it needs. The vast majority of our cholesterol is endogenous. We do not need to eat cholesterol. However, avoiding it is very impractical due to it's ubiquity.

Medical science is also beginning to challenge the idea that fat and cholesterol influences heart disease. It's possible that this consensus will change.

Carb the fuck up, brah.

never heard of this. will iodized salt work?

>Medical science is also beginning to challenge the idea that fat and cholesterol influences heart disease. It's possible that this consensus will change.
Get a load of this lardass, also you forgot to include some one liner quote from an influential "expert" to complete your meme.

Jesus Christ look at all that crazy

I said fat and cholesterol, not obesity. These are completely different things.

Also:

thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736(17)32252-3/fulltext

Then you are just stating plain facts and not any new secret that "medical science" is beginning to unravel. There are plethora of uses for both fat and cholesterol in our bodies, that shouldnt be news to anyone. And they obviously dont affect heart diseases if you dont have them in excess.

I said that because that is what my doctor peers are saying about these Lancet articles.

One gynecologist in particular enjoys quoting a 2017 Lancet article that I haven't been able to track down and supposedly says that most people with high cholesterol did not die due to heart disease and most people who died due to heart disease did not have high cholesterol. The article I posted was the closest one I managed to find.

How do you know he's the same guy?

Isn't PEMF contentious? Is this different than "Electromagnetic hypersensitivity"? Is that a placebo?

Because he has a few very specific fixations and phrases that he repeats. You can read the links and see for yourself.
Here's two more to add to the list.

Steroids

roguehealthandfitness.com/strong-bones-improve-brain-function-slow-aging/
A diet that can support resistance training for this purpose as well.

You may also want to increase testosterone production and look into aromatase inhibitors which can be as simple as nicotine vapor.
I would also advise against keto diet because it also has effects on testosterone production over time.
Testosterone production can make you more driven but can also increase certain distractions, so you may want to work on focus in the first place.
I think there's some kind mushroom used to help heal nerve injuries and used for similar purposes, but I can't remember what it was called.

iirc there have been preliminary studies that show they help treat mood disorders, depression, anxiety and autism, which might be applicable for some.

Amphetamines user. Don't listen to these squares and betas. Take some advice from a PhD candidate.

just so you know OP most of this shit is pseudoscience there is nothing wrong with radio emissions from cellular phones are anything anywhere near the 5GHz range. Its literal nonsense.
