Veeky Forumsizens

Veeky Forumsizens,

Which piece of literature made you more alive? I'm talking about being more optimistic, inspired, kindling of your inner fire kind of literature.

call me a pleb all you want

How come?

The Odyssey.

I've been writing Neo-Classical poetry since. It's so beautiful.

I write for myself, and that's what Homer has taught me.
Life is beautiful, and so is literature.

I love you guys.

Vonneguts empathy towards humanity moves me greatly. The book is littered with beautiful yet naive optimism and incredible quote snippets. The yeast quote is also one of Vonneguts most brilliant moments. The whole story just makes me feel very comfortable and calm.

What is the yeast quote? Or is it a Yeats quote?

>I write for myself, and that's what Homer has taught me.

but Homer didn't "write" for himself, he performed it for audiences...

Shakespeare.

>he doesn't know Greek
>he still claims to have "read" the Odyssey
Your poetry's shit too

That audience ended up being me, and now I am inspired to write for myself.

I do, though. I have a Masters in classics

Maybe Douglas Adams.
