The best way to solve things such as ecological catastrophes is to let scientific development go as fast as it can. We'll maybe invent a way to solve the problems. The market will start valuing solutions once they become needed and resources will go where they are needed, and even now, it is not like we don't have a lot of people working on the problems.

1. Native rapists do relatively little of those random assaults + rapes and even less of those group rapes.
2. Immigrant rapists, on the other hand, do more hose random assault type things. Sometimes group rapes.
3. Victims are much more likely to report those random assaults and such.
4. Most rapes overall are committed by people that the victim knew beforehand. Maybe their partner, maybe some friend.

It is reasonable, from that data, to assume that a higher percent of immigrant rapists get reported to the police.

i agree with this logic in many ways, but the problem is that the free market only wants to maximize profits. solutions to human problems are only sometimes profitable, but usually they cost.

"winning" in capitalism is concentration and hoarding of wealth and resources. if the people with the most wealth got it all from selling toxic shit, then they're not going to allow their profit stream to be interrupted. they'll torpedo competition to secure their market as they would any other competitor, even if the alternative is better for "everyone," it ain't better for them, so it's got to go. you can already see this happening with the buying of politicians who are climate-change deniers, or TV ads for Koch industries presenting them as benevolent scientists pushing forward helpful research instead of an international chemical company that buys politicians who are climate-change deniers.

The free market enables bad actors. Yes, they want less poverty so there's more people with more disposable income to buy products, which are all created in the most environmentally devastating way possible. Look at all the ewaste from the phone market. tons of buyers on every continent across all class strata. every year, they all upgrade, every phone is thrown out and the batteries aren't even removable anymore. profits from green tech simply can't compete when pollution and disposal are not part of the sticker price of "normal" products. Most shit branded as "green" isn't particularly, it's just to attract consumers to a product mostly similar to a non-green option. And once you tell industry "you have to not create pollution when making your product, and then you must recover and sustainably dispose of all of your old products," then that's obviously no longer the "free market," that's "SOCIALIST UN MARKET INTERFERENCE THEY'RE TRYNA TURN US ALL INTO GOMMIES AND ROUND US UP INTO DETAINMENT CAMPS WITH NO MORE COCA-COLA!"
