Do you guys recommend Siddhartha?

By herman hesse

I am a 18 years old and my intuition shows that
this book will be some energy bullshit
do you recommend?

it's like 5 pages long go away and read it you nonce

>I am a 18 years old and my intuition shows that

jesus christ

it's not some "energy bullshit" and yes, read it

Didn't mean to offend, just my intuition...

Your intuition is shit. Go read it and never mention how old you are again.

Well, you're making a very broad, very dismissive statement about a great work of art. Keep that shit to yourself

Yeah, it's a great book for young people. It's short too. Steppenwolf is also good.

>I'm 18
>my intuition
teenagers don't have intuition.

Yes you should read it but read Demian first. they're both about the length of a brochure so it's not a big deal.

>read Demian first
Demian was horrible

Read it.
Try not to make assumptions based on your intuition.

It's okay. Your intuition is off, but not by a large margin.

There's really no reason to not-read it, it's quite short. Give it a shot and form your own opinion

At last, after the honey and nausea of the pleasures; after the insomnia and cold sweat of doubt; after the ice in the marrow and the tightness in the lungs of fear; after the thirst and restlessness of the search; after the marshes and the excrement of degradation; after the anemia and the agony of self-immolation; after the days without meaning and the dead night of the soul, at last: the enlightenment.

BUDDHA

Siddhartha, the Buddha, the master of renunciation;
The king with the immensity of the mind as his kingdom;
The knight who tames the tempest and electric fire of the neurons,
And, with thought as his vassal, visits truth without any fear,
And walks over the clouds, and walks upon the slime of the abyss.
Siddhartha, the emperor who has a beating magnolia
- Tumid and juicy with the sap of empathy and complacency -
As his heart.
Siddhartha, the prince of the sweet features,
Features that kiss and caress the soul of those who contemplate him,
Making them glimpse the beehives of emotional gold
That are nested beyond his retinas,
The treasures that breathe behind his eyelids.
Siddhartha, a man of bones and skin and blood,
Siddhartha, a homo sapiens, a primate, a naked and biped monkey
That, with a warm and gentle smile,
Carries the whole cosmos on his flesh;
Siddhartha, the Buddha
Compassion itself condensed in human form,
The human form when sculpted in a diamond.

short read go for it. get to it already

it's pretty good if you're an unusually thoughtful teenager.

Just read it and form an actual opinion on it, it's super short.

Tried reading it but the woo woo shit got tiring. It's a poor man's alchemist.

lol

You could have read it in the time it took you to type that post.

>teenagers don't have intuition.
t. 20-year-old fuckwit

>It's a poor man's alchemist

That's the single worst book I've read in my life. How could something possibly be even worse.
