A world based on IQ

Do you think a society where everything is based on IQ would work? (gettin into schools, getting jobs)

What would be the positives and negatives?

>Do you think a society where everything is based on IQ would work? (gettin into schools, getting jobs)
No.
The world is way too complex to bae important decisions on one single factor. A lot of people that would have the ability to contribute deeply to their fields would be held back and progress as a whole would lose some traction.
Let people's achievements speak for their intelligence, not their results in one test.

I agree with People with VERY low IQs ought not be allowed in critical positions -- like running a nuke plant or being President of the United States.
But, speaking as a member of Mensa, I can confirm that very high IQ people can be incompetent and believe just as weird things as "normies".
Long-term demonstrations of ability count more than one number taken on one day.

No. People with high IQs but who don't do shit still deserve to starve. Meritocracy all the way.

I've never met a person with a very high IQ that was actually competent at anything.

I think it could work.

>guaranteed smart people in positions of power controlling businesses government
>Less religious violence. Low IQ radicals less funding because no positions of power

This NEEDS to happen

>brainlets try to rebel
>we're too smart and powerful and rich to get beat
>brainlets wipe out the majority of their population in civil war
>will only be a few of em left
>mfw 2nd holocaust

>mfw instead of kill them all we enslave them
>slavery is back, stimulating the economy, but its not based on ignorant racism
>since we have no racial hatred towards them we abuse or underfeed them
>they dont hate their lives as much because its higher quality than broke low iq lowlife

Every problem in the world solved

*dont abuse or underfeed sorry

people will figure out the tests are just another standardized test that can be practiced
eventually someone will headhunt someone based on something that isn't their iq and the society will realize what they're doing is retarded

Do you really think fucking smart people wouldnt know how to change the test?
Obviously people with high IQ's would end up in the positions of test designers

if the test keeps radically changing doesn't the entire measurement of IQ become worthless?

No, it can be found out how to change questions on a test while ensuring they measure the same areas of intelligence

>like running a nuke plant
You do realize there are members of the US military (i.e. functional retards) operating nuclear reactors all over the globe right now?

>130 IQ
>genius, just like dad
>alcoholic, just like dad
>schizophrenic, just like dad

Just gonna stop there.

These. Hinging every life outcome (or even many significant ones) on the results of one test is ridiculous. Period.

Also this. The stratifying effects of your system and fact that the stratification is all based on a single mechanism mounts lots of pressure to corrupt it.

absolutely not. take Richard Feynman, whose IQ was less than stellar at 126. His achievements, however, blew away most of the 140+ savants we see nowadays.

You can make the argument that Feynman's IQ was measured incorrectly or that the psychologist who tested him tweaked his results. This just exposes more faults in this system: incorrect measurement potentially ruining lives or psychometric testing being abused and corrupted.

Additionally, IQ is as much a product of environment that it is of genetics; this is why the IQ of impoverished populations is widely lower than those of the wealthy. In your world, it is less likely for the poorest members of society being able to rise above their condition.

IQ =/= intelligence
we need better metrics---until then, say what you really mean

When he had his IQ tested in high school, the tests were based exclusively on literary factors - use of language, vocabulary and so on. It totally failed to factor in mathematical skill. In a modern test his IQ would be much higher.

Do Mensa faggots actually think they’re smart? Jesus

What metric better than standardized exams? If you are such a high iq individual as posters on this thread claim to be then exams shouldn’t be a problem, and they serve exactly the same purpose. As far as a job interviewing, requiring a college degree or even a PhD is the same thing.
Just think about it for a minute and you’ll see that’s exactly how society works
