Couldn't decide whether I wanted to be an engineer or go into business, so I did both. Still don't know, I'll probably end up in banking or some shit.

Chemistry

To be a pharmacist... Hopefully

>too dumb for accounting
that's impossible

kek

I'm getting a minor in your mom and I'm studying it because I think me and her have a future together, son.

>your major
Med. Chem. / Organic Synth. Chem.
though i wouldnt call it a major, since its not like i have anything else i study at uni.
>reason
idk, i quess i just enjoyed chemistry in eu equivalent high school, and just auto-piloted to here. Free education + getting paid monthly, amirite :^)

What's the point of CE besides having a CS education with some electronics anyway?

Math + Physics

Because I can

Dumb fuck. People like you make me sick,

civil engineering

because as a yout I went into carpentry and civil seems like a logical next step if I don't want the time I spent to become a carpenter to be useless. took a break after my BS and now I'm working a comfy desk job in construction management.

No, it's EE with some computer classes.

Computer Science

I liked programming when I was in middle and high school, so why not

Physics
Best of both worlds (math & science) imo, most interesting thing to study imo aswell

Chemical Engineering.

I like chemistry.

I like math and I wanna build things, but idk what I want to build...

Become a civil engineer and join us Chads

He likes math, so he probably wouldn't like civil engineering

Bioinformatics.

I want to make an AI that makes smarter humans that makes smarter AIs that make smarter humans etc.

Physics & Comp Sci w/ Math minor

Physics and computers are cool, and I need to be good at math

Oh and also I want to do research in quantum computing for the sake of combining the “analog” and “digital” worlds of human and machine, manifesting an existence of maximum technological and human potential

mad cus youre getting in deep dept couse of school?

>your major

CS with a math minor

>why you are studying it

At first I just picked it cuz I liked the idea of programming, but I've started leaning away from code monk stuff and wanted something more scientific. Im going to try and pursue machine and deep learning as their foundations involve applied mathematics and statistics which I have found to be fascinating.

>EE w/ math minor
>I like cock

Programming's fun, and I study DE's in my spare time.

I am so sorry.

>your major
Math
>why you are studying it
I took CS, econ, stats, physics, and I hated how I am the only person in the room, sometimes even including the professor, who knows the necessary mathematics that is used in the subject. I got frustrated with this so i stayed with math. I guess what I ended up realizing was that I like math a lot.

I like writing and chemistry, so white paper and journalism type stuff, hopefully.

good luck

>your major
Electrical Engineering/Physics double
>why you are studying it
It is some interesting shit bud. I will probably just drop the physics major and do it as a minor to get out in 4 years though. Planning on doing MS and maybe PhD on biophotonics or optoelectronics or similar fields

Chemistry
Because the job man said that there'd be jobs. Plus I like it.

Why? Cuz it's not sci enough and still pajeet?

that's a blatant lie. EE requires much more math than CE.

As long as you are one of the straight-A golden students, you're fine. Any less than straight-As in math is brainlet tier and you will be stuck with the same shitty jobs as every humanities student.

I got my major in math, minor in EE. I now work as an electrical engineer while getting my PhD in math on the side.

I want to invest money into anything STEM related that will make life better for people. Also, out of my own curiosity, I would want to see if any brilliant minded people are willing to try to make an invention that will harness zero point energy if it does exist.

They both challenge me and fascinate the hell out of me. You know, like a woman.

>your major

>why you are studying it
Because I wanted to make games, but came down with a case of the autism partway through

I really don't get this meme. At my uni, depending on electives the difference between a Comp Sci and a Comp Eng degree is only four classes. I really don't see how four classes make much of a difference. At that point I see it better to study Comp Sci because you get a deeper understanding of the subject instead of a shallow understanding of EE.

How do you even become a chef? Do you have to go to culinary school or do some restaurants hire off the street?

>your major
Computer Science

>why you are studying it
I really like coding but mainly I chose this major because of money and employment. My major before was chemical engineering until I realized how shit employment was so I switched just to major on a study with good job prospects. I may not like CS as much as Chem Eng but at least I don't have to worry about being unemployed after I graduate.

You go to culinary school for 2-3 years (depending where you're from) then you join a restaurant or institution for 2 more years as an apprentice

People just like to poke others. And CS is something that the math and physics guys can shit on, because it has IRL applications.

Physics, because people on this board said it's the best major and I personally get all of my life advice from Veeky Forums.

Explain. Is it that bad?

That CompE program isn't ABET accredited.

Maybe in Aussieland where CE is CS.

I got a bachelor degree in philosophy, then realized it was worthless and started from the beginning again

What did you expect, user?

Math undergrad here. Is it useful to follow philosophy courses in my spare time? Taking the exams is optional

Only if it doesn't interfere with your math performance. Philosophy should remain more or less of a hobby, like most of the social sciences

Math undergrad here, why did you switch from philosophy to glorified philosophy? Unless you want to do a soul crushing job at some insurance company, I don't see many job openings for us.

>agricultural economics and rural development

pigene mykonos malaka

I wanted to have a universal knowledge that could be used for a job, even if it meant to be a high school teacher. + my childhood passion was for math and I felt I went the wrong way

That sounds like a waste of time. You should have just done an MA in math on your way to a PhD in one of either math, physics, or philosophy (assuming you want to work in academia).

At what age did you go back to college for math?

ITT: children who fell for the memes

It is though.
I think the problem here is you yourself don't know what comp sci is.

>your major

As a pre-law degree. Law school after my undergrad is finished.

>major
cs + pure math
>why
id probably kill myself if i just did frontend/tech support shit, i cant imagine being a code monkey, math is cool, and most cs people here are retards

It's not bad. It's a solid degree. The problem is that employers don't know to shit about it. Besides, despite it covers a lot of things, it's not as deep as the respective "classical" degrees. Engineering physics covers fields like electronics, programming, quantum mechanics, modern physics, biology. However, you won't have the knowledge of a physicist, an electrical engineer or a biologist. It's a multidisciplinary degree that you will endow with useful skills but you will probably need a master in something more concrete.

>major

Math
Switched majors 4 times because I kept getting bored/unchallenged and have been procrastinating real life outside of school. Figure I can have options for different masters if I do math and hopefully will have decided on what i want to do by then

>major

Math and Physics. I was doing math and chem but I wanted to kill myself in chem. Too boring

If you like math, an econometrics major won't go in depth enough.

>in manhattan
That isn't relevant retard
If you're some wall street wannabe you need a math/finance degree from an Ivy, MIT or Chicago
NYU if you're lucky and connected

>econometrics major
is there even such a thing?

I know the London School of Economics offer a degree in it but that's because they specialise in that area (obviously)

COMPUTER SCIENCE

I DONT FUCKING KNOW
