The Power of Stoicism

this sheet is stupid and the philosophy too

Never read the Stoics before and I just realized this is how I've always lived my life. I don't want to be like this. Someone give me a new philosophy to change my dumb life.

neetchu

Stoics are fucking stupid. Some of those like "accept what cannot be changed" are alright, but "have nothing you are not prepared to lose"? Bascially How to live like a boring fucking scrub: the complete philosophy.

At least you are half right.

Epicur obviously.

I could make one for nihilism but what's the point

funny guy

basically none of this sheet is genuine Stoic belief

Seneca was one of the richest men in Rome. Aurelius was a fucking emperor. But you should totally live simply, bro.

no wonder they there was no repercussions for their gay "b urself" philosophy

Nihilism is easy when you have a sense of humor.

It is for me, at least.

"live in accordance with nature"

Is there any system that does not make this claim?

Transhumanism. Make nature humanity's bitch.

Dont they tend to couch it in natural terms like evolution and the like?

If there's one thing I'd hope people on this board could do, it's interpret subtext. Phrasing doesn't determine implication.

I've come across communists several times who are anti-natural even anti-environmentalist

Not a communist myself

What's wrong with your life as is?

have you always been this dense or have you had to work at it?

Yeah it's called reading a fuckin book ya dingus

>missing the point this hard

Nice cherry picking of the statesmen and emperor btw, real compelling considering Epictetus and Diogenes

I get to read more books if I don't have to read all books
