Gladly, I will make a case for genetic predeterminism being responsible for the various ethnicities of Homo Sapiens. Michael Woodley's 2009 research paper: "Is Homo Sapiens Polytypic" (Link 1) compared the heterozygosity in humans to other species with wide arrays of subspecies. Heterozygosity is the probability that at any given gene location, two organisms of the same species have different gene variants. It was found that most humans have between .698 - .776 variance in alleles, lending credence to their being a genetic basis for wide gene variance that causes phenotypical differences between races, amongst many other things. It is also worth noting that Craig Venter conducted a study in 2007: "The Diploid Genome Sequence of an Individual Human" (Link 2), that found humans of different races only share 99.5% of their genome. For context, the total human genome is 3 billion nucleotide base pairs. 0.5% of 3 billion is 15 million base pairs. For perspective, the disease sickle cell anemia (unique only to Africans) is only caused by a single base pair variance.

Another example is the genetic clusteredness of known genes which causes the stereotypical features of the races like different skin colours, bone density and proportions, organ size, organ structure, metabolism rates of certain compounds and so on. Michael Bamshad conducted a study in 2003: "Human Population Genetic Structure and Inference of Group Membership" (Link 3). What his study found that was when sequencing DNA from different races and marking loci that are unique to certain races and then processing for additional loci that only correspond to the marked one - you are able to determine which genes in particular are only found within certain races. What he found was that when the computer was allowed to sequence for up to 160 loci from the marked one, there was a 100% certainty of clustered genes from geographically isolated humans (i.e. races).

These are three excellent studies which provide the scientific foundation for the genetic basis of race, entirely extrinsic of sociology.
