Is there a forum out there somewhere like Veeky Forums but without the /pol/ influence? There's some genuinely great content here but the edgy racism and misogyny is fuckin annoying.

Veekyforums is pretty good

Kill yourself
Kek

Try Goodreads. Amazon censors negative comments so the Acela corridor bourgoisie don't have to see anything that makes them uncomfortable.

You'll fit right in.

Umm, I can't believe you failed to mention the rampant homophobia of all things... in fact I bet you yourself engage in that abominable habit of calling OP a "f*ggot". Ugh... sweetie, you are seriously blind to your own privilege and contribution to systemic heterosexism

This or reddit are good places

r/books
r/YAlit/

unfortunately no, there are no general lit/phil discussion forums or boards that aren't dead, insufferably 'normie' (for lack of a better term). /pol/ killed Veeky Forums but it was already shit. I'd suggest making some friends with similar interests as you.

fuck off niggerfaggots

Veeky Forums without /pol/ would just be /leftypol/

Just take the good with the bad, my man

Fuck off cunt.

Every great author has been /Pol/ tier, stop being a brainlet

reddit

If you can't scroll past a couple of posts because they trigger you, then it's either reddit or tumblr. The second option is you could stop being a little bitch.

name 5 authors that are /pol/ tier, phoneposter

Give me some examples

...

>If you can't scroll past a couple of posts because they trigger you, then it's either reddit or tumblr.

What if you actually just want a greater amount of quality discussion without autistic and ridiculous shitposting diluting everything.

If this is not troll thread:

Try reddit. You belong there, weak mind.

>if you don't like /pol/ you're reddit

420chan.org/lit

Is there a forum out there somewhere like Veeky Forums but without the /leftypol/ influence? There's some genuinely great content here but the edgy atheism and communism is fuckin annoying.

Then reddit and tumblr are the sites for you. You're hardly innocent as well. Creating a thread and wasting space.

I'd suggest /pol/

Not a troll thread, and ya I read r/literature too sometimes but it's not very active. r/books is plenty active but they have shit taste for the most part.

you should be happy that there are actually people here to challenge your views.

Well, as long as people can actually engage in discussion about it, I am.

It's just that calling people cucks and automatically dismissing female writers, to name a few examples, don't do much to challenge my views.

lol /pol/ doesnt change minds. its just annoying.

/r/literature is genuinely better for discussion

reddit will be just perfect for you :-))

>discussion
>reddit

Sociocide?

silly

>This board was better when my set of ideology was popular in this board
Maybe you're just not fit for discussion and for philosophy, user

>It's just that calling people cucks
I haven't seen that on this board. This is just the standard
>le right people call people cucks xD
argument.
>automatically dismissing female writers
What's wrong about that?

Except it never was. The sincere faggots here all came because of the imgur post, and are getting triggered. People were calling Edith in Stoner a bitch cunt that got what was coming to her in 2012, and there are way more discussions of black authors except Achebe today.

I'm not sure; but I recall that being a sympathizer of right wing ideas and et cetera was almost a reason to be bullied by the whole board. But I only started lurking Veeky Forums seriously in 2015

There are some generally intellectual reddit subs for scum like you, but they obsess over /pol/ and Veeky Forums quite frequently, because of their impotence.

link pls

Retards and autists from /tv/ /mu/ /r9k/ Veeky Forums and reddit have done far more damage to this place than muh /pol/ boogeyman.

>be right-wing hateful racist neo-nazi
>best friend is far left-wing
>other friends are various shades of brown
>no difficulties at all talking shit and laughing about politics with each other
>tfw all the tumblr/reddit tourists on Veeky Forums are the only ones who get assmad about internet politics

I CAN'T EVEN

>why can't everyone be like my faggot friends

>>other friends are various shades of brown
You are a liberal, dude. Not
>muh edgy neo nazi xD.

Kys

Made me kek desu

I came to this thread to gang-bully OP for being a safe space faggot, not to see sympathizers.
Is this even Veeky Forums anymore?

>>best friend is far left-wing
If he isn't a syndicalist, a marxist or an anarchist, you know nothing about politics.

This

Veeky Forums hasn't been synonymous with /b/ since 2007 you fucking faggot. stay in your containment boards

Half of the users here are marxists

A lot of reddit commies have a tendency to drop into Veeky Forums. They coincidentally show up with the butterfly whore and I have seen it posting for attention recently.

please explain what you think marxism as lucidly as you can.

> tfw enjoy the literature Veeky Forums enjoys
> tfw enjoy most of the discussions and jokes from Veeky Forums
> tfw reddit is too casual in their tastes
> tfw Goodreads is only good when it's people from Veeky Forums you talk to
> tfw not keen on the /pol/ conspiracies and hate that seems to slip onto this board

I know how you feel, OP. I just tend to minimise those posts t b h but it'd be neat to find a gentler place to discuss literature with people interested in the same quality of work, but most literature-based online communities are very slow and inactive. Best chance is probably joining a book club/library/working in a book store.

r/literature is good but very, very slow

I hate it is as much as you do, but we take the good and the bad. You won't find perfection anywhere, and you'd be stupid to assume you would find a place like that.

Part of anonymous discussion is cowardice. People who say what they want to say to blacks and women, and their parents, and so on, if they weren't so fucking timid to do so in reality.

You could grow the fuck up and ignore it, that would be best for everyone.

>implying bullying isn't Veeky Forums

Right now there are two threads whose sole purpose is to accuse Samwise Gamgee and Bertrand Russell, respectively, of being cucks

bullying people for their taste in literature is Veeky Forums

spamming evola, peterson, and 'cultural marxism' and flaming anyone who disagrees with you is /pol/

why don't the mods and janitors just do their job?

If I start an offtopic thread on Veeky Forums it'll get deleted quite quickly and I'll get a warning.
If i try and troll and off-topic shit-post on Veeky Forums I get b&. In consequence, Veeky Forums is a decent board

>My brand of childishness is ok
>Your brand of childishness is atrocious.

It's like you guys enjoy the stereotype of being pompous little faggots. Is this the literary lifestyle?

yeah....but at least we're still better than reddit. right guise?

>weak mind.

You can tell this guy cultivated inner strength while the rest of us were engaging in reckless and decadent hedonism

Bullying people for their incapability to filter and for getting pissy at memes is valid for the whole website.

The fixation on "cuck" as an insult really betrays the feelings of sexual inadequacy that go into right-wing views. Like, it's not even a Freudian symbolism thing, they've just come out and said "the thing I worry about most is being humiliated by people with bigger penises than me".

What the fuck happened to this board?

>you guys
clearly you're not from here. I'd suggest going back to wherever you came from

Unironically this. It's just glacially slow.

Knut Hamsun, Louis Ferdinand-Celine, Ezra Pound, Roald Dahl, Wyndham Lewis

Friendly reminder that Veeky Forums is strictly a Catholic board.

congrats, only took you an hour

The fixation on "fascist" as an insult really betrays the feelings of sexual inadequacy that go into left-wing views. Like, it's not even a Freudian symbolism thing, they've just come out and said "the thing I worry about most is being humiliated by people with bigger sticks than me".

Reddit
>Thinks a few authors are gods and condemn what they don't like.
Lit
>Thinks a few authors are gods and condemn what they don't like.

The difference is that Lit is more focused on the feeling of intelligence and superiority they get from reading, and Reddit likes to read about dragons and robots and and popular stuff.

The difference is basically being a normal loser and being a autistic loser who clings to their perception that they are intelligent, because it's all they have.

You can find intelligent and well read people anywhere, but just like getting a good girlfriend, you have to
A. Look through mountains of shit.
B. Not be a mountain of shit yourself.

>Knut Hamsun
>Roald Dahl
Alt for Norge. Everything for Norway.

>believing in god
>being a part of the same religion as the Irish and mexicans

It's actually kind of refreshing how explicit they are about it

That's not even related to /pol/ at this point my man, it's just siTEwide humour

>atheist
>reads literature by Christians

wew

none of them are /pol/tier. They may be right wing and nazi sympathisers etc but they don't have the childishness and petulance of todays right wing culture.....apart from maybe celine.

I wasn't the phone poster kid
Disrespect me again and we're gonna have some problems.::

Great argument. If you assume that I'm not from here you don't have to address what I said, well played. After you stop clinging to your identity on an ANONYMOUS website you might get a thicker skin.

ideology

>dubs on a strictly Mormon board

worldliteratureforum.com can be good but slow

Yes I agree, and I only listed those 5 because they have a wry intelligent nihilistic wicked sense of humour about them as well as being flagrant antisemites or fascist sympathisers.

Other authors with right wing or antisemitic tendencies are too broad to count and anyone cultured enough will realise that discriminating between political views when it comes to art is quite petty - a signature characteristic of the worst /pol/ poster is his obstinate refusal to learn or read anything more about Marx or the Frankfurt school or whatever outside of his conspiratorial infographics

suck my ass you windowlicking moron

Kill yourself and the problems will be solved, cunt.

Can't we all just get along?

witnessed kekekee

Isn't the second one always the trouble?

He's a syndicalist anarchist and I'm the Marxist

>87 replies of utter shit
i don't know who's worse, the commies, or /pol/

Have you even read those threads? Or are you here just to enforce your safe space bs? What did the Russel thread led to? It lead to ninety posts of a healthy discussion about sex, gender, gender roles throughout history and ethics. If you're against that maybe you should go back to the place where you come from. You're merely complaining about how said type of words "trigger" you. Do you realize how you don't belong here? You're complaining about WORDS, about a determinate GROUP OF LINGUISTIC SIGNS and not about the content of the threads. If there was a discussion about the author and how his lifestyle affected the way he saw the ancient Greeks how is this not relevant or worthy of discussing? This idiotic attitude of yours of complaining about formalities and being obsessed by form over substance is typical of superfluous and childlike buffoon. If anything, for the sake of everyone in this board, just stop posting on Veeky Forums and go to a website where you can feel "safe" in your bland, grey, neutral or even friendly to your circlejerking needs. This website isn't obviously for you.

The people who want to get along spend their time reading and writing books instead of talking about them. The people who talk about them want to argue. How else will they validate their failures everywhere else?

>syndicalist anarchist
Is that different from an anarcho-syndicalist? Or do you just not like traditional rules of the English language?

It's trouble anyway, honestly. Be a good person, a real catch of a man, and you'll still run into problems. The point is that to even get to that observation you have to try, and not be a lazy piece of shit who only pretends to know things instead of actually trying to.

I'm a fucking idiot, I don't know anything much about women or literature. I want to learn.

I am still waiting for a radical centrist movement to rid us of political retards and identity politics
and from there we can form the foundation of another socialist movement

People who post Bloom
