Why do photons travel in wave motion?

Why do photons or wave particles, travel in wave-like motion? Is there a Veeky Forumsentific explanation? What does it bouncess off of to describe such ZigZag trajectory

Nothing travels as a wave. A wave is just a way of showing something with respect to something else. In the case of most waves, that's time.

A wave is just what the function looks like.
