What's the science behind a future like Blade Runner?
2049
Magic.

Who's the nooby fucker who fucked the perspective in this image?
Which part op
Very tired of depictions of androids/AI in science-fiction as exact human replicas. I know Asimov wrote a long time ago but it still feels pervasive.
>Asimov
you mean Dick?
cuban pussy
Are you into something wrong if it's wrong at first glance?
golly gee that's a pretty lady
Yeah.
This.
It all comes down to the fact they have some mystical power source their super high tech can use.
Androids, body swap, body snatcher, humanoid aliens, etc are all cheap ways to do sci-fi without much special effects. The second reason allows the average audience to connect to the character.
definitely not Peugeot building flying police cars for the LAPD
Are there any hobbyist/fictional tech schematics that are designed to do things like the sci-fi elements of BR that would work with a stronger power supply than any that exists today? What other tech would need to be invented?
depression.
id rather go live on some remote island than some dystopian hell hole.
Thinking of the major themes in the movies we would need at least the following technologies:
1) Access to fusion energy on a scale of accessibility similar to what we have with microchips right now
2) Some way of shielding against gravity
3) Very large leaps in materials science
4) Near total understanding of human biology including the brain to the point we are able to manipulate it like we would our existing computers
5) Tangible holographic interfaces that can be projected trivially
6) Data storage vastly more advanced than what we have now
7) Permanent interstellar travel, communication, and habitation
These range from already being researched right now (eg fusion energy) to might turn out to be outright impossible (eg shielding gravity). Some might turn out to be possible but not to the extent we see in the blade runner universe (eg materials engineering).
we really only saw LA, and that's always been a trash hell hole imagine what that universes dallas would be like
Didn't Dick basically steal everything from Asimov?
the director wants to do a Dune adaptation next. hype
No.
More like an 80s lambo
About time. Kinda tainted hype tho - I'd want a guarantee that kj andersons immense faggotry wouldn't creep in around the edges.
༼0o0;༽
No way. That would be awesome
Agreed. I couldn't help but stare at the picture pissed off about this as well. There's no gorram way the guy can fit in a tiny little car like that.

>tfw no more cool looking cars
