I had a professor who said the reason people attribute Shakespeare's plays to Marlowe and Bacon etc. is because they're elites who don't want to believe an uneducated person from the middle-class could have created his work. Since Bassano presumably would have been poorer and less educated than Shakespeare, it follows that she certainly did write the plays.
