Things that make you immediately disregard some work of literature

>author is a pop culture celebrity

>author is a woman

The only women I enjoyed reading were H.D. and Woolfe. Plath wasn't bad either

Book too much into feminism

>work contains irony
Might as well read a book entirely composed of blank pages.

look at that transgendered chris-chan looking motherfucker

fuck off hater

nick smith is dope, love his work on youtube

>author has a twitter were they call themselves a writer and do self promotion

Guaranteed shit.

>author is a non-white or female

What do you like of Plath's work?

Has anyone actually read that book? The extreme level of autism make it sound kind of fun

He stopped using YouTube tho

>This is an experimental-

>author still lives

>the phrase, "best x of his generation," appears in his obviously self written bio

>NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

Fucking this

>quote by Dawkins or some other popular simpleton on the cover

it's usually
>One of the most compelling voices of his/her/xyr generation

>a tour de force

Honestly....If Veeky Forums overwhelmingly recommends it, it's always shit.

>provocative

Apply this checklist to authors before you read them and it's basically guaranteed quality. If the author fits the criteria, they get a strike. 3 strikes and you're out.

Author isn't male
Author isn't white
Author isn't heterosexual
If author is religious, they aren't Christian
The author has any mental disorder (1 strike per disorder)
Apply all of the above list to the main character as well.

Genre fiction (Instant 3 strikes)
Intended for a young adult audience (Instant 3 strikes)

Pretty accurate, but you gotta watch out for the ones with one or two, too.

>author doesn't degrease his pizza

Edith Wharton is a decent writer as well.

One or two can be fine, it's just with 3 or more they often turn into identity shitfits.
t. non-white

Yeah i brought it on my kindle. Found it a fun read because of how bizzare it is. Lots of highly specific descriptions of things, eg going nw at 30mph, or describing all colours in hex. Expect fan fiction tier plot with mary sue protag, a whole system of rpg stats which are presented constantly and weird stilted dialogue. Its basically outsider art.

Isn't this the guy who spent years working out every possible way of playing Bubsy 3D?

Willa Cather and Marguerite Yourcenar outdo both.

>The author has any mental disorder

Can you be more pleb

>author is a nigger
>author is a woman
Those are the main ones to look out for

I'll also add

- author is a poo-in-the-loo

lots of curry niggers who failed in STEM are trying to pump out shitty books fueled with Jewish style psychology

By "nigger" I mean anyone with skin darker than a white South American

Yeah, pretty much. I find his website to be fascinating.

can't lip read; what is the lesser hitchens saying here?

"a triumph of the human spirit"

I actually have a pretty hard time visualising things in my mind so the really in-depth descriptions were pretty good, I thought.

Ulilillia is god-tier, I bet you can't drink 2 litres of water in under a minute, faggot.

>I am a women hating racist the post

Guaranteed you've read less than 3 books of any woman or non western authors, and that's me being generous, you probably read a chapter of Ayan Rand and feel superior to your buddies for knowing about the 'canon'

yeah but you can still watch the vods
