But I have thought my self into the abyss of abstract meaninglessness before. I chose not to stay there. I found a person to devote my every effort, and with her we made a son to whole we devote our every effort. I look around the world and I see every other creature doing the same in one form or another. Why I should have stayed alone for so long and turned away my feelings for her so I could search for something deeper is beyond me. For more than 10 years I kept away from the woman I knew I would marry and give children so that I could feel different than society and live my own life. But there is nothing to live for oneself. There is no meaning inside yourself. There is nothing meaningful in this life except to create more life. Whatever experiences, insights, or knowledge we have are useless unless shared with a new generation. All the art and science mean nothing if there is not a better future for them to thrive in. We cannot just focus on ourselves and our goals when life has so clearly laid out a path for improvement over multiple generations. You will only be able to improve yourself so much. But of we do not pass on those traits and those gains to a new generation its not just biological extinction of your genes but every other aspect of your advancement.
