For me it depends on the type of dog..
New england style red hotdogs i grill until cracked open and moderately charred..
Bs middle murica cheap shit hot dogs i fry in a pan until browned thoroughly
Kosher hot dogs (master race) i boil in water just maybe a half inch over the dog with a couple cloves of garlic and a quarter of a sweet onion and strain/reserve the liquid and fridge.. I then reuse the liquid adding more water as needed and toss the liquid every couple of weeks.. After like 3 batches the "hotdog stock" smells of heaven and sweaty jews..
My prefered breads
I use top sliced shit tear buns for the red hot dogs
I prefer to use canadian white bread on my walmart dogs usually lightly toasted folded on the diagnal
On the kosher dogs i used a better quality run of the mill side sliced bun lightly coated in rendered fats (which ever i have on hand) and then toasted under a broiler so the inside has a light crust but the outside is soft. (I also do this to my english muffins when i make breakfast sandwiches)
On to condiments: (in any combination)
Solids.. Dill pickles, cooked onion, raw onion, various cheeses, jalepenos, shallots, olives, banana peppers, bacon, salami (heated a.k.a. sweaty), potato chips, relish, kim chi, pineapple, french fries, fried bologna...
Sauces.. Sriracha, mayo, dijon (the only type of mustard i use), cajan sauce, lousiana hot sauce, chili, tartar, yum yum sauce, samball, ajver, hummus, pub cheese, cream cheese..
Vanguards.. Hash brown bun, hot dog quesadilla, hot dogs n eggs, hot dog in an onahole (cresent rolls), beans n franks, hot dog chowder
Ive been buying 1 pack of hotdogs per week for years its the only unhealthy thing i really eat at this point in my life.
Hotdogs is love, hotdogs is life...
