I have a white noise machine I play. Sometimes I set it on rain , waves or waterfall but usually just white noise on full volume

Just use earplugs to block out the undesireable noise. It's one thing to play ambient music in the background through speakers, but actually streaming music directly into your ears while reading just seems like a pointless distraction.

Music is best listened to with full attention. Having music in the background for activities requiring concentration is plebeian, symptomatic of a short attention span and fidgeting.

Probably best off asking people on /mu/. I own a pair of Sennheiser though, they're a reliable brand.

in my personal opinion, if even ambient music doesn't hold your attention enough for you to read you have poor musical comprehension, and if you can't read without music you have poor focus.

Anyone have any decent recommendations for molded ear plugs? I really hate the shitty squishy disposable ear plugs, but I recently moved to a fairly loud area and it's really difficult to read because of all the noise.
