War and Peace

The Catcher in the Rye

with his first novel like you would with any author

I read Notes from Underground last Friday and had no problems at all. As a novella it might be a more easy-going way to get to know Dostoevsky and his style.

The Ilitch Siblings

Crime and punishment

Wrong. His pre-exile books should be skipped and returned to later if you are interested.

Notes from the Underground.

You can jump right into it with The Brothers Karamazov, but I'd recommend starting with something like Crime and Punishment or Notes From the Underground and working your way through his major works before TBK.

I started with TBK. Crime & Punishment and Notes From the Underground are a good start though.

crime and punishment, notes from the underground, brothers Karamazov, demons, the idiot, double, the gambler

Blunderground or short stories, or even better get the edition with Blunderground AND short stories

This along side Crime and Punishment

This

Cime and Punishment, ofc.

1) Notes from the Underground
2) Crime and Punishment
3) Brothers Karamazaov
4) Everything else

This is the best path unless you plan on reading all of his books, which is usually pretty unlikely.

Not OP but I picked up Demons at a thrift store for like 3 dollars. Is it worth reading? I enjoyed C and P, TBK and Notes from Underground.

this person is correct

you fucking bought it, i should hope it's worth reading you mong

This is best but don't get discouraged by Notes.
