Maybe OP means that Beckett will "die" in a literary sense, and by that he means that Beckett will cease to be in any way relevant. This may indeed come to pass. Beckett, after all, is the consummate postmodernist, and postmodernism is looking rickety these days, maybe on the verge of burning out totally.
