Hummus

Tribe hummus is superior to Sabra in every way. Why don't more supermarkets carry it?

>buy hummus
>kept sealed in its air tight package
>have it in the fridge for about a week
>sell by is the 27th
>go to eat it on the 19th
>fuzzy white mold all over the inside
why is this allowed?

turned me off of hummus for good I think.

>hummus needs to be labeled as gluten-free

How worth it is it to make your own hummus? I usually eat a fuckton if i eat it and shits expensive.

>cooking board
>talking about buying hummus
but it's so easy and cheap to make

Dirt cheap to make yourself, and tastes better.

Can you point me to a good recipe for hummus then? I've tried making it before but it always comes out runny and watery. Ditto for the store-made hummus at locally owned markets.

Hummus is best with carrots.

Tribe is Walmarts house brand

I have the exact opposite problem. I've got a 1kg tub for 1 solid month and a half and no mould since I last checked.

Yeah, cheap if you already own a food processor.
At least a couple hundred dollars and quantity doesn't normally call for it. Bar hommus, food processors are rather useless unless making cheesecakes or vegan mummy blog bliss balls.

That doesn't sound like a problem to me.

Now I miss hummus :(

>"But hummus is so easy to make, user."
>The hummus I make is shit though. Is there a way to make it not shit?
>*crickets*

This is why people buy hummus.

>(((Tribe)))

300 g ckickpeas
2-3 cloves of garlic
salt and some lemon juice
mix
add cumin, black peppar, 4tbs Tahini (seasam paste) and mix again.
add some water if you want it "smoother"
How much of the liquids (water and lemon) you add is up for your preferance, same with the spices.
Just realize what you prefer, if you eat as much as you claim this won´t be a problem

ALl the grocery stores near me do carry it.

I find most brands of hummus to be too thick, so I always dilute mine wiht a bit of water.

I also hate all the falvors they make. ONly hummus I enjoy is the plain, orignal tahini hummus. No thing else please

Then why the fuck can you get it at food city you queer?

you live somewhere where you can't buy or make it?

>I find most brands of hummus to be too thick

This is what I like about it though.

When I actually make hummus myself it usually comes out too watery for my tastes.

Is there any way to get it as thick as the store-bought kind? Do I just not add much liquid?

>gluten free hummus
what is next? gluten free tomatoes?

well, make it with less water/oil/lemon juice, duh!

>fucking love hummus
>can't digest chickpeas at all

Life is suffering.
