He's an ass and you're fucking garbage. I'll kill you bitch.
Amazing writer. But some plebs like
will never be Veeky Forums and conflate politics with art too heavily. They think political first, art second.
They're bizarro Reddit. Unless they "relate" with a writer they either disregard them or become physically angry. Pleb shit.
I like him, but I know a lot of Veeky Forums doesn't like him.
After the first two novels it becomes the literary equivalent of experimental jazz. Too chaotic. But Voyage and Mort à Crédit are easily the best French novels of the 20th century. His antijoo trilogy of essays is also pretty dank. There's an English translation of the first one, don't know about the other two.
t. French
But obviously Céline is an ass, he wouldn't even deny that himself.
And OP is garbage, because he feels the need to verify other people's opinions on a writer.
So the claims that user made were pretty valid.
Voyage Au Bout De La Nuit is certainly one of the greatest novels of the 20th century. Idk how well it translates in english though , considering all the slang
>And OP is garbage, because he feels the need to verify other people's opinions on a writer.
If a question that open is poor form now then we'd better not have a lit board at all then.
>So the claims that user made were pretty valid.
That user was a faggoty fee fee feeler.
>I'll k-kill you
Do you guys like D'un chateau l'autre and Nord? Is Rigodon any good?
90% of people who praise Celine on this website are French. Also, you can easily identify them because they're the only ones who write it with the accent (Céline). French people really consider him like a hero or some kind of genius just because his writing style is pretty unique in their literary tradition. But then they get madly butthurt when you say people like Miller or Burroughs are way better than Celine. Personally, I've read the Journey and I thought it was absolute trash. I felt sad, because from the descriptions I expected it to be very different (better). In the end he was just a stressed-out doctor full of shit and resentment towards everything. You don't draw conclusions from that book, you don't take or learn anything. Not even a writing style to be honest, since that kind of harsh, super pessimistic and pornographic prose is completely outdated and inadequate nowadays.
