Who was in the wrong here?

who was in the wrong here?

daisy for running that one bitch over

Feels like this can't really be a wrong answer.
Also Gatsby for being a 20's nu-male

Everybody except Nick

Fitzgerald

Gatsby was in the wrong.

The whole point of the book is to show that everyone was in the wrong. Nick is the narrator, who acts like he is different from Gatsby and his lifestyle, but literally acts exactly like the others and treats people the same. The only truly good guy is the husband who shoots Gatsby by mistake after he finds out Tom has been banging his wife.

You can't blame them, everyone else was so insulated within their money that they weren't capable of seeing outside of their aristocratic bubbles, barring individual catastrophe the thought of behaving any differently would have simply never occurred

Pretty much all of them were shits

>tfw I'll never attend one of Gatsby's parties

>built himself up from nothing
>moved in organized crime circles successfully
>dominated the social scene
>"nu male"
Kill yourself mate

Isn't the whole point of the book that they we're all cunts except that Nick wasn't a truly irredeemable cunt like the other rich lads and when he realizes that he just fucks off out of there in disgust?

Democracy

Notch is the real life Gatsby though. Just go to one of his

no

yes

i dont know

Nick was a bystander through the whole ordeal and could have prevented all of it by speaking up. In this case inaction is the most damiging crime. Nick should have gotten his dick shot off instead of Gatsby being shot in the back.

He's a nu male because he did all of that for a woman. He is the polar opposite of a man. A man should do things for the sake of himself, not to win the approval of a woman.

The high school educational curriculum in the United States

F. Scott Fitzgerald

Fitzgerald is lauding the American Dream. The Great Gatsby does not occur in an ordered universe, the characters do not live in a great chain of being. The American Dream takes the place of religious obligation or allegiance to the king. If Gatsby had followed the American Dream rather than chasing Daisy, he wouldn't have died.
