He reads but doesn't write

>he reads but doesn't write

>bittersweet hoarded sun

I have a physical aversion to reading my own stuff, I never edited my stuff in uni, probably why I never rose above mediocrity. I put it down to self loathing

>he doesn't read or write

Me, t b h

>he considers himself a "writer"

I write small pieces of study which consists of my anotations of the books and secondary material. Eventually when i edit them they get bigger, more correct and have a better flow to It. I started to edit writing in the manner of the person im analyzing (my DostoiƩvski one had a heavy edit on how we writes) and so far is helping a lot on my intelectuall and artistic maturity.

You are stupid, OP. Literature is meant to be read by as many people as possible, but only the few superior ones should write it. Sure you're not one of them.

>he listens to music but doesn't play

Not an argument

literally me :)

>he dismisses my argument but provides no argument of his own

he refuses to read digital books because they 'dont feel right'

>greentexting an analogy is an argument

wew

I'm sorry, I only provided the same empty greentext OP did

>he watches sports but doesn't exercise

>he writes but doesn't read (the thread)

>he watches the food channel but doesn't cook

>he watches porn but doesn't have sex

>he watches porn but doesn't fuck

>he watches porn but doesn't masturbate

Woah, that's telepathy!

Absolutely! I've taken to scribbling down any ideas for almost the whole of the last decade. I preserve anything I've written on. While I didn't look back for years, lately I have been mining old papers for gems of thought. It is:
1) amazing how much I've grown in my comprehension
2) interesting to see how thoughts develop throughout my years
3) helping me produce writing presently

Simply stating, restating, restating, and restating ideas, looking for the proper words and structure, this is important to creating mental clarity.

People really shouldn't write unless it's something they feel seriously compelled to do. There are too many writers and not enough readers. Same with anything creative. Thin the herd- you are probably not that good. In addition to this, even the ones who are good, often lack the perspective of art as just another career- which it is, in many ways. It's a job that requires you get up and actually DO the thing you say you're doing for at least 10, 20 hours a week. Not going to parties all the time or playing video games.

So yeah, don't write.

>gives advice on writing
>doesn't even write
>is also a manchild

But if you never write, you will never find out if you're one of the (((superior ones))).

I don't write but most "creative" fields operate in the same way. I'm just saying, if you treat it like a job, then you're getting somewhere. But otherwise it's mostly a hobby. Notice that nowhere do i refer to myself as a "writer". I'm not saying "don't write"- start a blog. Just don't operate under the illusion that you can be a professional writer without putting in professional hours.

Writing helps you think man

This is really the best possible answer. Veeky Forums is always full of disgusting and wrong -- I mean wrong at the root -- threads where people ask advices on writing, and they especially beg for motivation. If you need that, do not write. Just DO NOT WRITE. You're getting nowhere.

>he writes but he keeps his writings too himself, never showing them to anyone, for fear of not being the great writer he had built himself up to be inside of his own head, and instead being exposed as a not-very-good-writer or even worse a mediocre writer.

>he writes intentionally

lol fourchan. society ejects them. they all gather here like birds before the sunset.

Is this a poem?

>he writes but doesn't read

Ebooks hurt my eyes and literally give me headaches.

They really do not.

does reading text on the computer do the same thing?

don't hold the screen to close to your face
increase the font
lower the brightness

beat me to it

this is the state i've ascended to

you got a problem with that?

*descended
