Currently reading a compilation of three novellas by Aldous Huxley -- After the Fireworks.

Huge fan of George Saunders (The Falls is my favourite short story) and Haruki Murakami (which is pretty basic white girl, I think, but goddammit, so be it).

Hate fantasy for the most part, but did like American Gods, just read that a few weeks ago. (I know that's more than JUST fantasy, but still WAY more fantastical than I usually gravitate towards.)

Well, it's just human nature for most people, people who aren't particularly interested in rational thinking, to choose whatever ideologies suit them and have everything suit them no matter if all these self-suiting beliefs somehow contradict each other.

If you actually meet a feminist who has some pretensions to intellectuality (is a professor or writer or something) and complains about the sexual objectification of women, it's very unlikely they'll be crude enough to also think/say that "misogynists just don't get pussy".

However, the average "Stacy", or woman who's part of the masses that doesn't think much, will probably spout feminist buzz-phrases when they suit them, and on top of that want their boyfriend to be manlier too and think lowly of men who aren't manly. They want it not just both ways, but three ways, or even more. Most women aren't even actually feminists, they just use whatever ideas from feminism suit them.
