Tableware thread

what kind of tableware do you use when serving family and guests?

Man, even my Vietnamese grandmother has those same dishes.

What happened in the 50s and 60s for everyone to have these?

these are both cheap, they sell smaller sets too

my dad eats his daily meals off of plastic plates that came with TV dinners in the 1980s. Literally he has been using the same disposable plates for 30 years without ever throwing them away.

what. the. fuck.

I have that exact china set (Taken from my grandmother's house after they both passed away within 2 weeks of each other)

Thank you for reviving my thread. I still have some of these plates.

70s-80s actually. Corelle estimates that at peak popularity, 75 million homes had the butterfly gold set.

reduce reuse recycle homie, we only got one planet

b-but the BPA is literally eating the plate. these are not even dishwasher safe and they have been in the washer thousands of times.

my grandma used to keep yogurt cups and butter tubs for years like this

Hot damn, I had no idea.

damn... so many memories. me and my brother used to eat our breakfast cereal using old margarine contains (Parkay!) as serving dishes.

Love these
Shit does not break easy too

I am seriously pondering to go plain white.
Sure it's boring, but isn't it supposed to be about the food anyway?

plain white is the best

>serving family and guests
I have no one to share a meal with...

I have an incredible amount of mismatched shit i have collected from consignment shops over the years
pretty much i never have matching plates, glasses or silverware if i would serve more than 3 people

>plain white is the best white

everyone I know has these. whoever made them must be making bank

Holy shit. I just ate off of one of these plates. Neato!

So is Corelle the GOAT dinnerware?
I've been wanting to get a set. Should I just go basic white?

>not having plain white dishes

its easier to see if you missed a spot when washing them
