German food, is it a meme?

German food, is it a meme?

>meme
It might be legit porn level already.

Seriously. German food is boring af. Explain yourselves, Hans.

What do you consider non boring food?

No. French and japanese foods are memes.

German food is just okay. Great beer, great sausages, some okay potato and noodle dishes, and some cheeky stuff like pretzels. Its nothing to write home about but its got its pros and cons like every other cuisine.

Everything is a meme you little shit.

Dishes from the mountains regions are pretty awesome. Beef pounded flat and wrapped around onions and pickles with cream, and possibly mushroom is awesome. As are their sausages and schnitzel. And cherry brandy.

Wait, why am I not bitching about England or Poland again?

Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Thai, French.

>'French food is a meme.'
As much as I dislike their city-dwellers, I have to ask, how much weed have you had?

if you drink 2 litres of beer first german food is amazing, but i can't imagine enjoying it as much sober

"Man I feel like having some German food."

said no one, ever.

So... food that's served in more than one plate? Right, now that's total exitement.

This post is so /reddit/ I want to puke

What?

this post is genuine, non-meme actual autism

ur dumb LOL

>Germans

Wrong as fuck man. There's a nice German place in my city that serves all kinds of sausages and schnitzels and meats and lagers, etc with all the typical German sides. It's legitimately one of my favorite restaurants.

Haha epic

I don't smoke weed. I don't know what made you infer that.

Are you saying I need to smoke a bunch of weed before eating French cuisine to understand why a bunch of autists have religious levels of zeal for putting French cuisine leagues above all others?

I never said it was bad. I said it was a meme. The 'French Gourmand' was meme before people knew what memes were.

get one of those big ass german pork legs and some saurkraut

also known as Anime-Meat because of the bone sticking out.

...

Is it really called anime meat? I mean you can see shit like that on the Flintstones.

I know I've got a bone sticking out.

It's only called like that by otakus. Sorry for weaboing on you in public.

It's fucking delicious.

No. It's delicious comfort food, borne out of the thick forests of middle and northern Europe. People who don't like German food aren't trustworthy.

Japanese food is pretty boring to be honest. After a while you realise it's all soy, miso or dashi.

I grew up in an American town that was settled by Alsatian people, and the quisine in those restaurants was to absolutely die for

Wanna hear a contradiction in terms? German fine dining.

American studying in Germany here. The quality of German bread and sausages is head and shoulders above American stuff. Cheese and beer are also for the most part better. And holy fuck is everything cheap. If you like these four things, Germany rules. Not to mention the glorious kebab.

Thats bullshit. Im constantly travel from Amsterdam to DE with one purpose only:

Eat pork knuckle. With sour cabbage and mash. Bear, mustard....

I gotta go again soon.

Beer, lol.

Its a nice weekend ride. We usually go to Aachen. Also shopping. Dutch malls are pure shit.

Lol I kek'd, but fuck fine dining, If you can't eat absurd amounts of meat and drink absurd amounts of beer then I don't fucking want it

I'll say French food is interesting but fucking disgusting

it's called haxe, damn good stuff if you find a good restaurant to do it, pic related in munich

Bruh doner is so fucking good too, it's the only reason that i'm not completely pissed at the turks being here

>kebab
Traitor

"I love you"

Said no one to you, ever.

I swerve for every Beerhaus themed restaurant i see. I really love vinegar in food.

>I'll say French food is interesting but fucking disgusting
What a terrible opinion.
>i love ham hocks, but beef stew is disgusting!

It might not be kino culinary food but it's definitely comforting as fuck

beef stew isn't inherently French you fucking autist, i'm talking about that duck liver with the consistenciy of butter, tastes like ass, escargo kinda of taste like char grilled oysters, I didn't mean every single french food item sucks, but most of it does, it tries to be way more fancy than it is

plus name one french food item that is as fucking delicious as a crispy ham hock with a shit ton of flavor

tartiflette, blanquette de veau, gigot de 7 heures, steak frites, boeuf mode, bouillabaisse... shall i continue ?

Oh, so when you said that French food is fucking disgusting you really just meant two specific items you don't like and something about a retarded generalization that shows you know nothing about French food? Really proving you're not an idiot here. Great job.

>reddit spacing
>anything disagreeable is autistic
drop the reddit spacing and you wont have to try so hard to fit in

My favorite restaurant is a German one. Some of the best pork and beer I've ever had. Go be lame somewhere else

dont say that filthy word OP thhey are called subhuman

Germ*ns Adn yes they have meme food. as in disgusting garbage that you feed to people you hhate and want to watch die.

like I know what you said you french faggot

No I was listing the worst thing i've had in France that was considered really good, I spent a couple weeks in France and the food was meh, tried not to eat french food and stick to foreign restaurants

Bavarian food is nice but I wouldn't want to eat it everyday.

>unironically whines like a sperg about "reddit spacing"

>tells someone else they're trying too hard to fit in

Kek. NOBODY gave a shit about this until two years ago

PLEASE have sex

>ham hock

Ham hock is an inaccurate way to describe Schweinehaxn/Stelze. For one the schweinehaxen isn’t usually ham. Secondly its fucking delicious and probably my favorite German food. Seriously if you have never had it you need to try it.

Wow it really sounds like you dove into the French culture and tried a lot of their food before you came to this conclusion.

Ham hock is just another name for pork knuckle. I've had it and like it.

Ham hock is the smoked version.

that's why i spit on retarded tourists like you that come to paris

>implying I would ever go to that Muslim shit hole
Get over yourself you French pussy, Paris is about as beautiful as an ass full of hemorrhoids

I rarely see them in the store not smoked, but that's not required, it's just a name for the cut.

Yeah I did, what I found is that while France's countryside is nice, almost all of the people in France are dicks, refuse to speak anything but French, I barely got by with German in Alsace, French wine is fucking gross compared to Napa and Tuscany, French beer while a lot better than American, is complete dog shit compared to German and Czech beer, French sweets are about the same as German sweets. French coffee is really fucking good, i'll give y'all that. And small French towns are nice.

I've been to France and spent time in every region and that's it, my favorite region is Burgundy, and almost all of the big cities I went to were very okay

Many Americans had German cuisine in their families a few generations ago, now supplanted by burritos. So kebab reminds us of home.

Best character

It's good as a novelty but I couldn't imagine eating it all the time.

Reddit spacing tells it all

>chamber pot full of white turds
dayum

>Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Thai,
Literally all of these are one-trick ponies, less diverse and interesting than German cuisine by far.

Well that shit Reddit joke back fired on you. I bet he's sat there red faced closing the Veeky Forums window.

How? I don't even like Indian or Thai very much but they both have immense variety.

Japanese uses the same seasoning combination over and over, so you kinda have a point. Still delicious though.

I’ve literally said that before.

>tfw it's finally Grünkohlzeit again

Underrated bread assortment.

Where do you live?

Yeah its heavy as fuck

Its for days you feel very very hungry

You just described broth and condiments. Now what about literally everything else that goes on the plate?

Congrats on being a complete waste of human space.

Not him, but colorado Springs has a nice assortment.

I am a fan of schnitzel, but I make mine with a polish recipe my wife has. She calls it "kotlet."

For this recipe, boneless chicken breast is used as opposed to pork. The breast is pounded and then coated with mustard. I like French's for this because it is sharp and tangy, but it is all preference. The coated meat is then covered with breadcrumbs, dipped into raw mixed egg, and then breaded again. it is then placed in a hot pan with shallow oil. I use Canola oil for this. The meat is cooked until both sides are a golden brown.
The kotlet is served with a baked sweet potato and a side salad.

don't know
don't care
that looks pretty fucken tasty DESU

Its all just meat and bread, so its at least "ok"

lol epic burn dude!!! wanna see a photo of my doggo?

This reminds me of a French dish I learned to make years ago from a French chef, except we used bone in chicken thighs and roasted them instead of pan frying. Called Poulet Devile`.
>lightly rub chicken with oil, roast.for 5-6 minutes each side
>remove from oven and gather drippings
>combine grainy or Dijon mustard with finely minced garlic, minced parsley, and fresh ground pepper ( we used white pepper, but black is fine)
>slowly whisk drippings into mustard mixture to make a sauce-like consistency
>brush chicken with mustard mixture
>back in oven for 4-5 minutes
>remove and brush chicken again, then roll in fresh breadcrumbs to coat
>back in oven until golden brown and cooked through

Good stuff.

Why on earth is that sausage pure white

I'm making this tomorrow. What is the oven temp? What starch do you serve this with?

Bullshit. Lurkmore has long been a part of chan culture, not so much Veeky Forums because it attracts a different demographic. Reddit spacing makes you stand out because many fags who type like that bring thier reddit shittery over here
>get laid
Kys you're self

Oven temp is 375F, if I remember correctly. I'll go pull the recipe and double check in a minute, though. I usually serve it with some kind of potato dish. In the restaurant, we'd do more fancy potato preparations, but at home I usually do roasted potatoes (since they can go into the oven alongside the chicken). So potatoes, plus either a salad or other green vegetable like asparagus, green beans, or sauteed spinach.

I'm making this tomorrow. This sounds great! Thanks, user!!

You're welcome! I went to check the recipe, and it didn't have the oven temp written on the card, but I'm pretty positive it's 375F. Just keep an eye on it, and if it seems like it's cooking too fast, turn the temp down a bit. I guess I forgot to write it down back then because it was so engrained in my head.

It's made from veal.

I think your instructions are very clear. I'm going to write it down now. Tomorrow I will make this with sautéed asparagus and a twice-baked potato

>PLEASE get laid
Your a idiot

Awesome! I hope you enjoy it!

Oh, also, i forgot to say, that if for some reason your chicken is too lean to give you enough drippings, you can sub with some melted butter. But regular whole chicken thighs usually have enough fat on them to render enough. That's just a tip, in case.

food, or meme? the answer might be more surprising than you think.

Thanks. I think I'll just add some butter anyway. It will add to the richness of the dish.

Go for it, butter makes everything delicious, amirite? ;)

>all these horrible mentions
You have a horrible palate

kill yourself

pls post the result if the thread is still alive

>name me a french food
>user proceeds to name french food
>what is this I don't speak french

>German food, is it a meme?
there is no "German food". We have regional cuisines that differ greatly from each other.

You failed at step one

> almost all of the people in France are dicks, refuse to speak anything but French

implying they speak English

>quisine
