is going to community college Veeky Forums tier or am I just trying to make up for the fact that I am too poor and stupid to go to university first?

The stupidest thing to do is not studying just because there are richer smarter people than you elsewhere. Would you rather be mediocre or absolute shit in three years time?

College is fucking retarded regardless of where. It's a complete waste of life.

Go to a public college

Unless you're doing stem, just keep shitposting on Veeky Forums, I learned more here and had better discussion and got better criticism than I ever did at university

community colleges are better for students because professors actually care about teaching there rather than at universities where they just care about doing research

I don't know if it's Veeky Forums tier but you shouldn't be discouraged. From a community college I was able to transfer to a respectable university, the University of Michigan, and later gained admittance to an Ivy League school where I eventually earned my MA.

Listen man if you don't feel ready for university there is literally no reason you need to rush into it. I went to CC after high school and I am positive I made the right decision. Not only do you get complete freedom in creating your schedule, you can take whatever the fuck you want without worrying about a timeframe to be done in. You should really be taking the time to develop your intellect before jumping into such a huge commitment. Be smart about scheduling your classes and studying and your grades will be good enough to get into a really good school seriously CC is easy.

Me again
Universities don't give a shit if students are ready or not they get their money either way. Literally a majority of the people who graduate high school and transfer to university immediately do so because everyone told them too. They get suduced by partying and getting laid all while entertaining the idea that they'll "figure it out" in those four small years. Half the people that go to university aren't going to use it to their advantage and its because of cultural preceptions like this; they force kids who aren't ready or sure of themselves into an academic environment they're not ready for because if the kids fail it's not their problem. Anyways my point here is take a step back and realize that most people don't know this and most people will go to class and go home/to their dorm only collecting a grade. This being the case as long as you posses a certain amount of self awareness you can really get what matters from University, what so many miss out on. Learn how to network and study at CC and you'll be ready for university whenever the fuck you want to be ready.

Latter. Don't delude yourself.

Moved on beyond your MA yet?

either youre lying or you went to university in america

Goethe and Dickens were almost entirely self-taught. Anything can be done with will. A friend of mine went to CC for 2 years then transferred to a really good school on almost a full ride, he's one of the smartest people I know. People rely on school elitism to compensate for the fact that they've done nothing to be proud of themselves despite their 'education.'

I only made it to my junior year in college, dropped out because I found out I have a tumor and other related brain issues, also because I'm dumb as fuck, but from the community college I went I learned significantly more. They were, in my opinion, less politically charged, and more focused on the actual fucking content.

>either youre lying or you went to university in america
Gentle reminder that the universities in the United States are better than literally every single academic institution in your entire nation's history

Damn man. I'm sorry to hear that :(

>Goethe and Dickens were almost entirely self-taught

Where do you people get this shit?
Goethe literally had private tutors his entire childhood and then went to uni

What do you mean, 'you people?'

>What do you mean, 'you people?'

plebs

I transferred from a community college to a university. The professors I had in the year I attended CC were far better than any I had during the 3 years I was finishing my bachelor's. Sure, my university professors probably had more raw intelligence, but they were neurotic and incapable of teaching well. My CC professors were fantastic and knew how to explain things.

Of course, I learned more studying by myself than in either scenario. If you're not interested in a degree to obtain a better job, just learn on your own

One of my CC professors went to Yale. It all depends.

>CC teachers are better than uni professors meme

I wasn't going to say anything but I'm so tired of seeing retards repeat this crap ad nauseam.

News flash guys - all that research that your professors are doing, that stuff they care about and that distracts them from "teaching" you? THAT'S WHAT YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE DOING TOO.

If you weren't mediocre middle-class shitheads you'd realize that the true value of a university education is getting in contact with research and participating.

The reason your professors hate you is because you're stupid, have zero motivation, and expect them to be impressed with you because you got gold stars in 3rd grade.

Professors are dying for actual students who show potential and drive. They WANT you to participate in their research, but you just expect to be spoon-fed everything.

My university had classes of 1000 students and it was impossible to get in contact with the professors, who did a shitty 1 hour lecture and otherwise communicated entirely through a legion of TAs. The professors were just there to write exams

Dude you aren't fooling anyone, we all went to uni too.

The only classes that had 1000 students was shit that everyone had to take like Gen Chem and Calc.

>reddit spacing

whom are you quoting?

You you dumb faggot redditor

Nothing is stupid. You just need to have reasonable goal(s). Be realistic, and don't waste time or money.

>Nothing is stupid.
incorrect

to me it just sounds like you're ready for the next level of the spiral deep digger ;)

I went to private college for free on scholarship. I think you are angry in the ano.

A lot of people in my area take transferable credits at the community college and then do their last year or two at a better school with a decent name/reputation. They get a degree from a respected institution but for less than half the cost.

this. nothing can be truly Veeky Forums tier in this day and age except the negation of the spectacular system of domination in its entirety.

> You will never experience the faded glories of bourgeoisie culture

>Once upon a time the universities were respected; the student persists in the belief that he is lucky to be there. But he arrived too late. The bygone excellence of bourgeois culture (By this we mean the culture of a Hegel or of the encyclopédistes, rather than the Sorbonne and the Ecole Normale Supérieure.) has vanished. A mechanically produced specialist is now the goal of the "educational system." A modern economic system demands mass production of students who are not educated and have been rendered incapable of thinking. Hence the decline of the universities and the automatic nullity of the student once he enters its portals. The university has become a society for the propagation of ignorance; "high culture" has taken on the rhythm of the production line; without exception, university teachers are cretins, men who would get the bird from any audience of schoolboys. But all this hardly matters: the important thing is to go on listening respectfully. In time, if critical thinking is repressed with enough conscientiousness, the student will come to partake of the wafer of knowledge, the professor will tell him the final truths of the world. Till then--a menopause of the spirit. As a matter of course the future revolutionary society will condemn the doings of lecture theatre and faculty as mere noise--socially undesirable. The student is already a very bad joke.

is community college actually a bad idea. i am starting with community college and will transfer later on. if i can get transferable credit's am i bad.

College is a bad idea in general, but Community College can be very financially wise.

depends, if you just want to graduate without debt and get a job fast then it really doesn't matter, but if you actually plan on learning shit (lol who does that?) then community college might be a bad "culture fit" for you, you can always transfer out early if it really blows, you don't have to stay for the whole associates, also if you want to do grad school, you may want to invest in doing the fundamentals at a more rigorous school, like you don't want to hear the professor say "you all remember reading this in intro to wester civ one right?" and you're sitting there sweating like "well, the text book at community college had a paragraph summary of it, we never read primary sources...."

i am a stem boy. i just love literature and write but i don't feel like it can be taught or if it can i am doing fine on my own with it. every literature class i ever had taught me nothing about literature

>every literature class i ever had taught me nothing about literature
let me guess you're one of those retards who thinks foucault is a jew trying to undermine western civilization or something, just stick to stem bro

what no sure i don't really like foucault. i just read on my own and read things on my own mostly.

There is no shame in going to a community college, instead of a 4-year university. In fact, it's also the smarter financial decision, assuming your are still living with your parents. In hindsight, I wish I went to a community college instead of going to uni. Also, this

What a bizarre thing to project at someone.

>is a jew trying to undermine western civilization

What do you mean by this? Are you saying that there are no secreted Zionist oligarchical forces at play the in West right now? Are you in full denial mode over this or just a willfully ignorant rube?

in the**

do you redpill dingdongs not realize the west was always gay as fuck and that homophobia is a jewish import from the orient? sick of all this "omg western civilization is going to fall apart because gay guys"

>more projecting over shit I never said

When did I ever mention anything about gay people? Look it's very obvious that you're the sort of guy that wants to pretend that all this is le /pol/ nonsense because it's too uncomfortable a reality for you to deal with, but if you ever do decide to take it seriously and follow the money you'll eventually have to deal with the fact of the Federal Reserve and who actually owns/operates it.

Until then you're full of hot air and avoiding the reality of the situation because you refuse to follow the money.

well no one has a problem with the stuff foucault wrote about mental illness (even tho that was actually weaker content) but the stuff he wrote about the construction of homosexuality, so 9 out of 10 ppl who got a problem with foucault are mad about gay shit

The efficacy of Foucault's work aside you do agree that there are Jewish power structures at very high levels currently working to try and undermine Western Civilization for their own ends, yes?

Keep in mind that critique of these Zionist powers isn't necessarily a dismissal of everyday Jewish people who are simply living their lives in peace.

dude, if you really think about it, the people that are trying to import all the immigrants are trying to save western civ, the birth rate is not high enough...we can't be world powers with population the size of new zealand, look at the size of the standing armies in the world today, turkey and china have massive massive armies, maybe the united states can pull up that many dudes with a draft, but no one european country could match them, if you dudes want to stay redpilled mgtow women haters, then the leaders who are trying to keep this shit going are going to have to bring in people from somewhere, if you're mad about the current state of the west how many kids do you have? none? then you're part of the problem

>dude, if you really think about it, the people that are trying to import all the immigrants are trying to save western civ

You're either a rage baiter or a complete dullard.

I'm going to play it safe and assume the former.

ax urself whats the different between france of its heyday during the enlightenment and france now? in the 18th century france had the biggest population in europe, today france is smaller than germany and tied with the uk

from wikipedia:

>until 1795 metropolitan France was the most populous country of Europe, above Russia, and the fourth most populous country in the world, behind only China, India and Japan;

Who the fuck cares if you go to college or not? Reading is Veeky Forums, not reading is not. Period.
You fucking retard, having to ask a community of pedantic fedora tippers if you wanna go to college. Choose for yourself, meek-ass fag.

college only takes 4 years, just fucking do it and get it over with, even if u do a degree in something u enjoy it will open up more opportunities than not going, and as a bonus u might learn some shit or get a laid or something a long the way

just came back why is Foucault guy now on about gays. >homophobia is an import for the east
huh

Thats what I think about it. Modern univeristies are just titles factories; become a bureaucrat, earn some dough. The rest is up to you.

Very few professors at my small university only care about research. Generally, they're the small-fry that just finished their PhD and are still on probation. Everybody that has been here for over a decade is very serious about their job.

Like I always say, just avoid factory schools in general. This includes all those 'elite' schools

the greeks and romans were all fags u fucking idiot holy shit

My current degree wasn't offered at CC. Dropped out of CC and went straight to uni. No regrets.

>professors actually care about teaching there rather than at universities

beware people who are "passionate" about teaching, that is the last refuge of brainlets who are unpublishable

you do realize that one can be published and also not be a dullard, yes?
