In your personal opinion

>top 3 works of the 19th century
>top 3 modernist works
>top 3 post-modernist works
>r8 others

>Walt Whitman-Leaves of Grass
>Sigmund Freud-On The Interpretations of Dreams
>Herman Melville-Moby Dick

>Ezra Pound-Cantos
>Wittgenstein-Tractatus
>James Joyce-Ulysses

Can't comment on the postmoderns at this point

bad thread. modernism and postmodernism are way too big categories for a modern reader to wrangle down to 3 titles and all three categories have some predictable canon answers almost every lit user will agree with

It's not supposed to be what almost every lit user would agree with, it's supposed to be your personal opinion you ape

It's supposed to be personal favorite you dipshit

>Moby-Dick, Crime and Punishment, The Brothers Karamazov
>The Sound and the Fury, Ulysses, the Waves
>Cat's Cradle, Catch-22, the Sot-Weed Factor

>don't know enough 19th century but brothers karamazov for sure
>Ulysses, Light in August, The End of the Affair
>Infinite Jest, Lolita, Gravity's Rainbow

David copperfield, red badge of courage, lost illusions

Sons and lovers, absalom absalom, look homeward angel

White noise, airships, midnight's children

Interesting books i think but i am more unfamiliar with contemporary stuff

>Lolita
>postmodern

well so far i see 3 ulysses and 3 moby dick

All I see is this 7

>can't even call singles
check my 5

>Sportsman's Sketches, Anna Karenina, Crime and Punishment
>Ulysses, The Waste Land, A la recherche du temps perdu
>Ficciones, If on a winter's night a traveler, La vie mode d'emploi

checked

> Moby Dick, AK, Our Mutual Friend
> The Waves, Ulysses, Herzog
> Obabakoak, At Swim-Two Birds, Pale fire

>Crime and Punishment, In Search of Lost Time (I'm going to count it as one book), and Faust.

>Ulysses, Herzog, The Waste Land.

>Gravity's Rainbow, Underworld, Mason and Dixon

>top 3 works of the 19th century
what is the Veeky Forums meme trilogy?

1/10 too little fiction

My list:
>Brothers Karamazov, Moby Dick, Heart of Darkness
>The Old Man and the Sea, The Sound and the Fury, Molloy
>100 aƱos de soledad, Gravity's Rainbow, White Noise

>Karenina, Moby Dick, Karamazov
>Ulysses, Swann's Way, Sound and Fury
>White Noise, Infinite Jest, Ficciones

There are so many others to pick from that choosing three from each category doesn't do it justice.

>les fleurs du mal, faust, germinal
>waiting for godot, the trial, in search of lost time
>naked lunch, one hundred years of solitude, the book of laughter and forgetting

why are everyone's lists so generic and bland?

The Brothers Karamazov
Hunger
Les Illuminations

In Search of Lost Time
Ulysses
The Trial

The Unnameable
Correction
Ficciones
