Why do brainlets like fiction? What good is reading Moby Dick, Les Miserables, Ana Karenina going to do for you? Nothing, it doesn't work your brain, it doesn't allow you to understand different points of views or learn new things like nonfiction does.

You need to realize that most of them are shitposting and they actually read fiction all the time. Genre fiction especially. This has been said again and again in the confession threads.
The few that aren't are complete idiots who got memed into it by seeing shitposters on Veeky Forums say this stuff and so they thought "Damn, this must be the smart thing to do."
The polar opposite of what you said is true.
It makes me feel things I cannot explain or express and for me that is enough. Experiences that transcend the everyday are rare, pursue them wherever you can.
