In general I don't like trans representation that is too cloying or political. Really enjoyed Last Exit To Brooklyn's depiction of trans women who were sexy, smart, conceited, drug-addicted, and generally fuck ups.
You won't find any since the only people who care about trans issues are trans people and they are too fucked in the head to write good books

The transgender character is not revealed to be trans for some time, though. And it really only comes up in one bizarre, jarring scene that makes you think "murakami wtf does this mean"

This is true I have a friend that is a 28 year old virgin, hasn't even kissed a girl and although he was always a bit of a weirdo. The last few years, he has went mad with loneliness and is now a x-gendered bisexual or something. ...We've stopped talking.

He should have started lifting instead of mashing is willy. Fucking hate to see people buy into bullshit because of this acceptance exalting mother society that is too compassionate to tell some they are wrong. I have a fucking sister that thinks she's a dude because she reads supernatural fan fiction and watches gay tv shows constantly and wants to be those things now. LIFE IS NOT A FUCKING CRUISE!! You are entitled to nothing!! why do jealous insecure people believe they can bend reality and neglect blatant information to be something they are not? They say that gender is subjective so I guess it's all so convenient that all of their evidence is in the same boat. Goddamit it pisses me off.
I still wack it to traps. I'll be the first to admit it is fucked though and I have a problem induced by my degenerative situation. The fact that I find them attractive is inherently connected to the fact that I failed as a man. Like the rest of the role confused cucks. I still have a chance as long as I know what is right and what is wrong. Something that has been intentionally obscured to fit the consumerist fantasy of a hedonistic wonderland.

Trans have always existed in one way ore another: many traditional societies recognised a third gender (ie. Samoa, Thailand) without it being much of a deal. Studies suggest trans people's brains display both male and female characteristics. Late capitalism does nothave a concept of community, it knows only the sovereign consumer on one side and abstract society on the other. The atomised consumer is free 'just be him/herself' and receive the recognition of abstract society, but restricted otherwise restricted, leading to a Total commodification of the self. This is why identity crisis is universal under late capitalism. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fa'afafine

I used to write stories about crossdressing and transsexual issues before this was all a thing. I liked it for the subject matter: displacement, loneliness, the uncanniness of being one thing and pretending/wanting to be another. SJWs have made everything interesting and transgressive boring.
See also: gay marriage.

Not just boring; aggravating and *ontologically* dangerous. Psychiatrists have been the worst, enabling (literally) self-destructive behavior while simultaneously changing the rules of diagnosis and treatment to exclude anything that doesn't play into patient delusion.

Do trans-peeps actually realise this? It seems like they have a desperation to portray themselves as normal when it seems quite evident that they're a normalised aberration stemming from a crisis-point in society.
Not that I'm equating the two, but people with functional mental illnesses are at least usually aware that their issues derive from social factors (i.e. depression stemming from a negative self-image).
Or maybe I'm ignorant. I suppose a book would help.

I don't think trans is a product of capitalism, but the way capitalism deals with gender identity ie. as a matter of consumer choice may just be aggravating the crisis. 'genderqueer' tumblr users and the parodic hypermasculinity of the alt right stem from the same basic problematic.

Angel Perry
I agree with that and think it'll be interesting to see if it's still an issue in five years time when it's become blase.
As an outsider, it appears to be as if these people are striving for a form of hyper-individualisation. They want to define themselves as something to stand out from the rest of the crowd. It's a psychological issue manifested into physical form.
As the post I replied to said, it's likely due to a lack of community and order. The individual only knows themselves and the abstract society so they desperately seek order in a community. Whether it's being part of the LGBTQ+ crowd, or a Corbyn/Sanders voter.
Is it really all that different to when punks defined themselves based on their music choice and lack of consumerist ideals?
Carter Perry
you might be thinking of tumblr girls who latch on to non binary identities because its trendy. Actual trannies tend to be awkward depressed autists who barely even go outside.

At least in the USA, our society is continuing to devalue individualism and is instead consistently enforcing the value. strength, and importance of group identities (just look at the way we talk about society today - instead of venerating the rugged individualist and frontiersman that we did 30+ years ago, we today talk about group social movements - BLM, LGBTQ, Femimism, "Intersectionality," etc).
As a result kids are brought up not seeing themselves as individuals, but members of a larger group. And when they grow up not fitting fully into a group (i.e. a girl who likes boyish things, or a boy who likes girly things), they decide it's time to move over to another group, or to create some small group that fits them to a T (but doesn't really, because no group is going to). As opposed to the past when being part of a group was less important (and indeed when it was something that people viewed with some measure of skepticism).

Life is too short for bores. You absolutely should find a trans girl to date. I'm working on fiction about cross dressing, homosexuality and transsexualism. But it isn't political. It's about love and friendship. I really dislike stories that are gritty or grimy or otherwise gross. I like something "softer" and more realistic (for me anyway). I've never lived in big cities or ever experienced extreme or degrading sex, etc. Thats why I can't stand fiction about transgender people. I have to go to manga. But manga is too light and sometimes rather silly. Anyway. I think there will be an audience. Might help guys in your position.
Colton Phillips

I'm American and say "folk." It's how my family talks. you pick up on that shit. I guess I haven't met enough of these people to be able to speak on the matter: >"Most liberals who say "folk" come from large cities and suburbs. It's an affectation to seem more "down to earth" I'm inclined to say the user got that from a newspaper, but I would be speaking beyond my experience to say definitively one way or the other.

they say "folk", "folks", and "folx" all the time, retard. "bodies" is only used in the context of state/disciplinary force being enacted. no one says "this space is aimed at queer, PoC, and trans bodies" but they sure as hell would use one of the variations of "folk" there

I was actually stumbling around public internet spaces for trans people and found a very compelling character that inspired me to start the novel I'm working on.
If any Veeky Forums trannies are reading this they probably would know who I'm talking about.
But she's only in 1/3 of the book. As a normal person, it's not my place to write a novel "about" trans people. I'm merely involving trans characters.
The research I'm doing is rewarding because I have no social life and it gives me people to talk to.
Nathan Phillips
Yeah well if a biological male decides to take female hormones and looks beautiful and passes, then what's the problem? If he knows he's homosexual but lives as female and his life is improved substantially then who is anybody to tell him he has a problem? It's his life, and he's happy. People should be able to live the they want.
Brandon Gutierrez
Who's that? Just curious.
Jace Wilson
I would never violate their privacy by even hinting who they were.
But what drew me to them was how obviously wounded they were, and in such a fascinating, gender-specific way. And not in the way trans girls normally are; she passes flawlessly.

Degenerates please leave and never come back here.
Robert Morgan
I picked up on the wounded part as well. It's beautiful in a way I can't explain. And I don't want to sound fucked up. Like I'm making their pain into an aesthetic. But it's odd how no serious writers have dealt with this topic even adequately. Or have appreciated how much beauty is there. It seems incredible. Because the literary potential is obvious. Shakespeare would have loved traps. But your your work sounds very interesting. Do you plan to publish?

I don't see the beauty part. To me it's tragic. The body is a cage- for everyone.
I want to just slap the novel in a .pdf and freely distribute it with my paypal info in the back. I figure it's a lot easier as a new author to get people to pay you after, rather than before, they read your work. Ideally I'd just post it here and you all could read it for free.
I'm open to trying amazon. One thing I'm sure of is that I'm never submitting to a traditional publisher. The financial split is terrible, and seems like it's preying on insecure, egotistical writers who want to be a Published Author and aren't aware that we're living in a digital age.

Easton Reed
It's pretty bad I agree. But do you have an audience ready to receive you work? The problem I have with self publishing on Amazon is that I don't know how to get readers to buy my book. I'd love to read your work. You have a website or blog? I'm told every writer needs one of those as well. In fact I heard from someone that even many traditional publishers strongly prefer you have a good size readership or following ready before they'll look at the manuscript.
Jace Baker
I don't care about any of that. I'm so confident in my writing that I expect it to be spread by the readers rather than the industry. If this approach falls flat, well then, guess I need to do better next time.
Even if my novel ends up meaning something to only one person in this lonely world, I will consider writing it worth my effort. I'm not looking for fortune or fame or respect.
Christopher Rodriguez
That's only happens if he thinks of himself as an actual female rather than as a male living as a female. Most don't think they are actually female. And that keeps them sane. It's only the political ones (as always) that ruin things. Imagine if most or all females were radical feminists. Life in this country would become completely intolerable. But most females are sane. And sane ideas keep a person content and at peace with himself.
Brandon Ortiz
Supposedly gender identity disorder is caused by brain problems that isn't too different from homosexuality. One disorder makes you want to fuck your own gender, the other makes you want to crossdress. You do have a point for the SJWs who pretend to be trans because they want to be part of the oppressed lgbt, though.
