Post a book

Post a book.

Call out a name or call out a whole list.

The names called need to read that book.

Multiple names edition: people always complain about their supposedly common names like Ahmed and Toshio not being called out so let's take out as many Veeky Forumsizens as we can.

Noah should begin reading the Russians.

I don't really want to read this shit. What is it about?

The attempted assassination of Bob Marley

I opened it up at a bookstore once, saw a chapter written like a rap song and never considered reading it again.

>that's what my brother is calling his first child

ISHYGDDT

I want to but I don't know if I have to start with something else and what.

Post a link then, it's not on libgen or b-ok and I don't buy books anymore

It's one of the greatest books written in the past 20 years, no irony. If you appreciate good prose, rhythm and fictitious accounts of actual events, you'll enjoy it.

Do it, my man. As long as You're patient you'll be fine, most references to Gods and soldiers make sense easily and there is a lot of rewarding fun in brutal battles and powerful thematic development.

> shit
> brief history of seven killings

Stop being a lazy cunt and read it

Alright then. As soon as I'm done with what I'm currently reading, I'll give it a go.

damn you got my first name and middle name

First time I've ever seen my name on one of these threads, even if spelled differently.

Well, shit. And you did a one name call out, too. Guess it's finally on the list. I seriously was avoiding this for a while though, just because it's long and tough and I have some easier stuff ahead of me. Oh well, I'll try to read it before summer ends.

Haha

Will read.

Since its the only picture is have of a book cover, posting it.

this is unprecedented...

/nathan/ here, I actually read that a few weeks and am reading second foundation. Please recommend something that isn't sci-fi/fantasy for me please, and preferably not history either because I'm currently reading a history of the ottoman empire

Bummer for you, that shit goes downhill real fast. I give you the watcher and other stories by calvino. It's not his best, but still enjoyable.

Thanks buddy. It's time for you to find a copy of Philbrick's Mayflower.
Extremely readable history.

But user, you don't know my name. Still I will read it and hope for a lot of city-on-a-hill-ing.

Whats the title of your ottoman empire book? I was reading a history of Istanbul but put it down because it read like a textbook time line.

>from years a to b, blah blah ruled and did a bunch of shit. Which bring us to years c to d, where blah blah the second ruled

Osmans Dream

History isn't for everyone but narrative history is like the Harry Potter of historical writing

Most of the books I read are historical, but the one I was reading (Istanbul: The Imperial City by Freely) reads like bullet points. It's mind numbingly repetitive. I can only assume it was made for stacks to subtly brag how "cultured" one is. How are you liking Osman's?

It is quite good, actually. It is a general history of the entire empire but it maintains a very nice level of detail most of the time.
It is worth a read.

Really glad this thread called for multiple names or mine would never likely be said.

Cormac is the greatest American writer of our time, no irony.

Me too, user. My teacher used to bring it to school for me especially because I loved those cool spooky shiny illustrations. Veeky Forums will never understand muh nostalgic appreciation for childhood books.

woah that's a really high bar

You guys didnt call my name or anything but these books sound interesting so i think this thread has helped me create a new stack

you missed the best one

neat
