Christian esotericism is just disguised witchcraft and heresy, disgusting

It's about depth that can't be put into words:

>A definition adopted by some scholars has used "Western esotericism" in reference to "inner traditions" which are concerned with a "universal spiritual dimension of reality, as opposed to the merely external ('exoteric') religious institutions and dogmatic systems of established religions." According to this approach, "Western esotericism" is viewed as just one variant of a worldwide "esotericism" which can be found at the heart of all world religions and cultures, reflecting a hidden esoteric reality.

There is nothing "hidden" about the love of God, putting it into words is the work of literature not your warhammer tier fantasies

This man speaks the truth. Christian Esotericism is heresy. God's love and wisdom is not hidden or kept away from the public, there are no secret magic rituals to be found. Truly understanding the bible and practicing a true faithful love for God is about as magical as it gets. If you want true power to change the world then you do so through God's love and devotion to him, you don't need the fan fiction of heretics and blasphemers.

interesting, what can you tell me about heyschadic breathing practices?

There are paths that are in the broad daylight and loudly proclaimed and paths that are less traveled and less known. As long as they all remain rooted in submission to one God, acknowledgement of the ressurection of Christ for redemption, and love of thy neighbot and thy lord, I don't see how it's not leading to the same destination.

>actually worrying about labels in your universal pursuit of knowledge of the unseen
>abiding by labels assigned by the Roman Church to control the lowly peasants of Europe in the Dark Ages and Medieval Times
Anti-intellectualism please leave.

It's about having faith and believing in the Gospel, user.

Nobody is denying that, but probing for knowledge in the more obscure corners and within abandoned traditions is more than just a passing curiosity as well. And its entirely possible to do so without forsaking the core tenants of faith.
Its also possible that many posters in these threads and the Gnostic threads are simple spiritualists or agnostic/irreligious truth seekers who study theology for academic purposes.

>what are mysteries
>what is wisdom
>be cunning like the serpent but harmless as the pigeon
A foolhardy approach is prone to fail.

Intellectualism is for children who have rejected God in sake of humanism.
Truth is nonexistent. It's semantic nonsense.

Disgusting post desu. I'm sure the academic heavyweights that populate the history of Catholicism and the hard sciences were just spoiled, bratty children who didn't pray enough. (You) should put more effort in next time.

>Truth is nonexistent. It's semantic nonsense.

So how do you propose this statement is true then

>Truth is nonexistent
>who have rejected God
Belief in God hinges on the existence of truth. Without truth, there is nothing.

God is Truth

'academic heavyweights' are irrelevant navel-gazers.
It's a value judgement, you tool.
Incorrect, your understanding of Christianity is lame.

The Bible IS esoteric. If it were exoteric, people would understand it without training. The dots would not be needed to be drawn by priests and theologians. Any layman could do it easily.

There were Popes who spoke to angels and did magic please fuck off with this modern materialistic bias

1. Irelevant. The popes can do whatever they want when not excercising magisterial authority and it is without any binding power, outside the possible quality of the argument (which for this cannot be made).
2. Condemnations of esotericism have nothing to do with materialism as they come from the Old Testament and the apostles, confirmed by various doctors, fathers and relevant documents.
Will and intellect are the two essential properties of the human soul. Faith itself is an act of the two. Rejection of intellect is rejection of faith.

There is nothing esoteric about the imitation of christ, it's a book on prayer and devotion.

Communing with angels isn't esotericism though

Depends which angels and by which means. Summoning angels in occult rituals would be, praying to st. Michael or having visions would not be.
