Meal Prep Thread

Guys really what the fuck is Meal Prep?
Have you ever tried it before?
I'm a 19 chubby cunt and i go to the university, you think this can help saving money and get fitter?

I make lunch boxes for the week but my kitchen is too small for meal prep on a scale as shown on your pic related. Obviously making your lunch will save money over spending $8-10.

My slow cooker got me through uni, mini fridge in my room chock full of food containers that I'd heat up in the microwave.
Cooks while you're at lectures.

If you enjoy eating stale, reheated food every day, sure.

In fact how do you deal with the reheating?
Also meat like chicken doesn't get dry and sgtale with time?

digi

you should just eat 2 huge meals a day, no snacking

Post good meal prep recipes and recs please. I need inspiration since I'm tired of eating on campus when I'm there all day.

Just got an instant pot too so i think that opens up some possibilities, but im kinda blanked on what would be good over the course of a week

Food tastes off after two days in the fridge. Freezing prepared food is worse, lasagna is the exception. Large scale meal prep is really depressing on the 3rd, 4th, and 5th day.

If you actually care about how your food tastes you're never going to make it and you should just eat yourself to death right now

Totally

chill out fatty, not everybody has weight problems

Meal prep is the most fucking depressing thing I've ever seen.

It's basically
>I don't care enough about taste
>I don't care about variety
>I'm too poor to afford a few extra dollars for lunch
>I need to spend more time at my desk working during my supposed lunch break

The only way I can defend it is if you have extreme dietary needs, like some kind of allergy or some shit.

>Meal prep is the most fucking depressing thing I've ever seen.
LMAO

Meal prep are for people who commute long distances for work and don't want to eat shitty junk food or cafeteria food. Just get off your high horse lol

did he struck some nerve?

The problem I have with meal prep is that whenever you search up recipes it's always gay instagramable food that hardly sounds good. I wouldn't wanna eat that shit one day, let alone a whole week.

Isn't that every restaurant pretty much? Everyone's ordering from the same Sysco catalog.

I live in a food desert though. I just want some good easy eats

The fuck are you posting mathematicians for?

Except you can prep with variety?
Except you eat whatever you want instead of just what's on offer?
Except you might be saving money instead of being a "paying for the convenience xD" memer?
Except maybe you actually enjoy prepping meals? (what are you doing on here if you don't)
Except it might mean that you'll have more time on your lunch break to socialize to socialize with others instead of standing in line and waiting for food?

>prep with variety

i tried this and i spent as much money as eating out desu

>tfw I didn't even know this was a mathematician
I knew I shouldn't have majored in art

So...
Eating out every day is just as expensive as making your own food?

Do you really believe the "it's cheaper to eat at McD's every day" meme?

Learn how to shop and learn how to cook mate.

does it hurt not being able to cook? is that why you make fun of people who do?

I don't know man, every time I go to safeway and I look at the prices and single ingredients are like 5-7 bucks. It adds up

Meal prep is fucking nasty. There's no way to retain texture.

This is why restaurants pay cooks $10 per hour. You're killing the economy

Hope you're proud OP

Leonhard Euler. He's the greatest mathematician who's ever lived.

What the fuck?
I go to an expensive grocery store and it tops out at 3.

because safeway is a ripoff! Go to trader joes or Raleys jesus christ

>take a recipe and make more of it
>wa la

is it physically painful to be that fucking stupid?

spoken like a true fat faggot, and I would know, I am one. everything you just said boils down to "wahhhh i'm too lazy to put some chicken, rice, and vegetables in a box so I get a big mac meal every day, oh, and a side of mcnuggies too please"

>wa la

are you new here?

Yep. Is spelling that wrong a meme on this board, because I know way too many people that do it unironically.

Lol, yes. Chubby fitizen in uni here, no one hardly uses the kitchen except for me and the autistic guy who once set off the fire alarms for our dorm because he was grilling shanks on the stove.

Meal prep is time consuming, but much less than cooking everyday. I do chicken, rice, and broccoli. Sometimes chili.

Maybe you can figure it out with a little bit more thinkin'

you can easily make like 12 bean cheese rice burritos at once and keep them in the freezer in foil and reheat in toaster oven
dont eat them everyday but rather every other day

>chicken, rice, and broccoli
Kys, faggot

you are aware that trader Joe's is just re-branded Aldi

OK?
and why are you telling me this?

TUBS!

Let's talk tubs. I'm after a set of nice looking tubs, that microwave safe, fairly flat so I can stack them in the fridge, and look more appealing than a load of dishes from the local chinese take-away. Also, it would be lovely if they didn't take up too much space when they're in storage.

Any reccomendations?

Cheers!

Fucking loser lol

It's good for boring stuff that keeps well in the fridge, and helps you stick to a diet if you have problems with portion control. I usually do something like pic related to get me through a few days, but doing a whole week's worth means it starts to go bad by the end of the week

looks a little bland but the presentation is nice

It's not bad, I just add my favorite hot sauces

could use a bit of gravey

what is it

Today I made 6 servings of lemon thyme chicken, roasted cauliflower and roasted carrots. Keeping it simple on week 1.

I'd say chicken, asparagus and either pumpkin or carrot with spices.

I feel the same way, hopefully someone else can chime in on this. A good cheap meal that will fill me up that I can take to campus

Could also be sweet potato for starch.

do something with beans.

Yea, I always find this to be the case. I bought some missing ingredients for a pasta dish today and it probably ran me $8.

Brahmagupta. You wouldn't be nothing without him.
