Fast casual =/= fast food. If there's no drive thru at at least a few of the establishments, it's DQ'd. Five Guys, Shake Shack, Panera, Chipotle, Qdoba, Boston Market, Smashburger, Dickey's, Jimmy John's, all get eliminated for this reason.

They're usually slower and cost more for what is clearly better food anyway, so it doesn't make sense to have them in the same competition.

I like Zaxby's and Chick-fil-a.

The drive-thru thing is just a rough rule-of-thumb. And admittedly it's more of a Venn Diagram than a binary. Even wikipedia describes Steak n Shake as a hybrid between fast food and sit down dining.

But I can definitely say that Shake Shack is fast casual and not fast food, while you could probably argue either way on Steak n Shake.

I saw it on a bunch of fast-casual lists and tossed it onto my own without knowing it occassionally had drive-thrus. I don't live in Georgia or wherever they're located.
