>the finest novel ever written by an american

Standards aren't that high then

Yeah I'm not sure I'd agree with it being the finest novel ever written by an american, but it is certainly a fantastic book

you forgot historical

Finally. Never heard of this

Quit these fuckin threads (you) faggot. No one actually plays

No one says Dmitri, but you think they'd recommend Dostoyevsky.

>tfw my name is never called
Enjoy your book, JOHN

here you go, any variation of Simon/symeon

I'd guess it, but I want to guess my own name, but that misses the point of a random book.
Ah, what the hell, Elizabeth

Have fun, Peter.

Hit it, Boris.

Not exactly, but close enough.

Here you go Stanley, Stanislav etc.

Kneel before the lord Dragon, Air-Wrecka, or you will be knelt.

> no one actually plays
> thread is popular

Choke on a dick, faggot

Cool, will look it up

Speak for yourself, user. Every time my name is called I will make it the next book I read because I want to read a reccommended book that is probably a bit out of my comfort zone, something I might not have been aware of or something I might not have read otherwise.

How would you know whether people were playing along or not?

This any good though

Enrique

>tfw no one ever mentions my name in these threads

Ross reporting in, haven't read it before.

why did you have to say Basmati Rice fml

That is so weird- because my name is Vindaloo Chicken.

i-i do

Yeah. The main event shines so brightly that you can't really look at the events around it, but here you have the whole picture. And it's messed up. You look at the chapters and wonder "when do we get to the flavour aid" but then Jones pulls some new shit and you are like "dude come on really?" and then you get to the end and you are like "yeah okay I get it". For instance everyone knows he made a test run in his church and then did it for real in Jonestown, but there are still a lot of holes and leaps in the narrative. How did we get to that point? What lead up to the FBI recording? You might for example imagine him as super charismatic and his followers super brainwashed, but that's not really the case.
It's like knowing Scientology is sketchy but then you read something like Going Clear (which I also enjoyed reading), and you are like "oh what".

s-somebody please say my name

Enjoy yourself, Lawrence.

ok francis

In the previous thread I suggested that we should have "Post a book and you have to read the book which was posted right before you". It's an immitation of /mu/, but seems to be working pretty good there.

My name is Jared, someone tell me what the fuck to read. Just finished some Hemingway if that helps.

Wait your turn goddamnit

Jimmy Neutron. Read this if you have first name Jimmy and last name Neutron.

No one ever calls me. I don't have the most common name.

That's because you're a crybaby, Jared. Man up and wait for your time.

This is going to get weird for you, Hal.

Only if you're gay

Sounds great actually, added it to my Amazon basket. How is Going Clear compared to the Alex Gibney documentary? Does it go further down the rabbit hole than the film?

i saw that too and had a cheeky giggle

> designs handbags

> literally has no authority in government and neither should she, yet she has an office in the white house and is representing America

The reign of Trump is fucking sickening, I'll be very surprised if there isn't an assassination attempt on him one of these days.

Bernie or McCain should be in power

I'm going to have a party when McCain dies, that traitorous piece of garbage.
Bernie wouldn't be too bad though.

no thanks

> McCain
> traitorous
> a man who fought in vietnam
> respect for his opponents, even if he doesn't necessarily agree with them
> voted against Trump-care that would fuck over millions of Americans
> traitorous

C'mon. You know better than this.

But I don't really know why Hillary was the democratic candidate when you had based Bernie on their side. I think they would've won if Bernie was the candidate. Hillary is too patronising as were her followers and she didn't even fucking bother acknowledging half of the country.

i don't have last name neutron but i have been wanting to read this

>mccain
really man?

mi fiddi wagwarn
ey ey aye fi widdi mi battyhole wid dis

Scott, Sean, Shaun, Seth, Sophie, Sarah, Samuel, Sasha, Sefton, Sidney

Ayy, you got it, boss

>wanting a neo-con
trump could do nothing but fuck russian prostitutes for 4 years and still be a better pres

>sang for the Vietcong and did propaganda broadcasts for them
>basically just a Democrat, maintains his seat with inertia and campaign money rather than actually serving his base
Nah, he's a traitor. It's telling that he's the only Republican that leftists don't completely hate. I think Sanders had potential, especially since ardent Hillaryfags were like nonexistent and Bernie would have split the white Millennial vote, but it was Her Turn(tm). Shame, since Bernie versus Trump would have actually been a difficult choice.

Thanks. I was gonna have to go with John otherwise

no problem my dude

hope you like it, genuinely one of my favourite books published in the last ten years and I think it could still stand tall 40 years from now. The Jamaican patois might get annoying at first but it really does open up for some very interesting prose, a sense of rhythm and some fantastic passages.
