That looks like I would hate the topping.

It's pure sugar melted in a pot then poured over the last layer of cake. It's just hard caramel.

also i attempted to make this the other day but I didnt make enough batter so it was only 5 layers plus i mildly burnt the edges of some of the sponge cakes

that aside it still came out really good

Why does it feel like I've seen this exact thread before?

Pandan cakes. Herb and plant flavors are really underutilized in sweets.

This looks pretty good now I want some

Stargazy pie

what does this taste like

Fish heads and pie crust.

>still leaving the head on
any country that does this meme where they dont cut the head of the fish is full of subhuman 70 IQ retards

how do you cut it?

right after you pour it on the cake you have to quickly score it with a greased knife, then when it cools you break the pieces apart

With a wooden spoon

user i need this now

My late grandmothers (both) made this all the time. It's okay.

...

GOD tier

...

pineapple buns are love. pineapples buns are life.

pill me on pineapple buns

fluffy yeast dough topped with a crunchy sugar cookie like layer. can come with a variety of fillings such as custard or bbq pork. it gets its name from the pattern of the topping.

Neat

Russian honey cake. Ambrosia of cakes.

I'm not sure I've ever seen or had Linzer eyes with Chocolate instead of jam in them, makes for an interesting idea though.

Is this the one that that one user a few years ago posted a weird oily version of and refused to explain that it was anything other than just a normal cake? Anyone have the thread or any pics saved?

Thank god. My first impression was it's a thick layer of guava paste. I loath guava paste.

Looks pretty good buddy

i need this

Sounds a lot like that Japanese melon bread. Except the Japanese ones aren't usually filled, I think.

King's cake. Layers are walnut, cocoa and poppy seed. Frosting is just sweetened condensed milk and butter. It's lovely.

hello there sea bro
and i agree

tried this in a cafe in Budapest. Lovely coffee and cake culture over there.

GOD

TIER

posting two pictures because you LITERALLY cant name a better cookie than the 7 layer cookie

>moist gingerbread with honey & stuffed with orange marmelade, made by female French nuns

where does it came from?

>(((7 layers)))
actually only 3

>chocolate
>cake
>apricot jam
>cake
>apricot jam
>cake
>chocolate

looks like 7 layers to me jimbo

Spekkoek

why do layered cakes give me a hardon

Id eat it like it were your mother

holy shit, those look great. And here I thought I've heard of every pastry ever.

Sacher Torte is probably my current favorite.

>>moist gingerbread with honey & stuffed with orange marmelade, made by female French nuns

I am so unbelievably hard right now

It's Russian originally. Forgot to mention there's a good amount of sour cream in the batter so it's very moist.

Le Merveilleux

>I loath guava paste.

You are a rancid little bitch

>moist gingerbread with honey & stuffed with orange marmelade
god damn that sounds delicious

nice

That reminds me of this, from New Orleans:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doberge_cake

(We pronounce it "dough-bash cake".)

It's basically a pudding cake.

That looks like some Smitten Kitchen to me

Everything I have made from that blog is better than sex

...

What an unappealing texture.

It's just a chestnut cream. Tastes better than it looks.

good job user also sick dubs

I'm mad that some person thinks this looks ok.

I bet it's absolutely delicious but, why the fuck did the chef design this shit to look like spaghetti and a meatball on cornbread.

Why am I actually upset about this?

Same. I love that blog

I have always really disliked that pastry tip. It looks terrible most of the time. This one looks ok.

It's a pretty great dessert though.

Don't get too wet over it; it's just mild, green vanilla.

YES. The GOAT baked good.

best cake

>50 layers of artificial colors and sugar
>20 pound of cream and gelatin other a plain sponge cake

It's not as bad as 00's fondant era but damn, where are the baked good? Just get a mousse if you want cream so much

user I think your cookie caught the gay

>poor amerifat triggered by a fish head

you are wrong

Mont Blanc usually tastes good and looks good but somehow you found the sloppiest, most discoloured example....

I made Paul Hollywood's couronne for my fella to take to work and share, feedback made it worth the homemade mincemeat I had to cook.

I also made the everloving fuck out of my youngest sister's birthday cake.
She deserved it.

what is that?

looks good user

You really cant go wrong with Sachertorte, its just that damn good
