Make a books thread on /pol/

>make a books thread on /pol/
>the only reply is "fuck back off to read it"
For about a year I respected those autists
Where did I go wrong?

Also political lit thread

...

Your first mistake was thinking people on /pol/ have ever read a book of political theory.

...

I'm pretty sure now that I've been reading a ton of ironic meaning into them that just isn't there

I'm so ashamed

...

...

...

God, if I read all of these I'd be a fucking powerhouse. I know I could do it, but I'm just too lazy.

forgot my image

Everything on that list from Hegel and onward is trash.

...

Should I follow this guide?
Or this guide? I'm leaning more towards the second one.

...

...

Bitch please. His first mistake was thinking that people on /pol/ are smart.

This.

...realizing this
...wasted the past year
...wasted my vote on a meme
...tfw still naive as fuck

> Rawls' Political Liberalism
> not A Theory of Justice

I know he clarified his views in his later works, but why exclude what is universally considered the most important political text of the 20th century?

That's sort of what I was getting it, but, yes I agree.

You have to understand that less than 1% of people out there have read enough political theory to form a proper opinion of their own. Most people are reactionary, single/few-issue voters and actual political debate among regular folks is entirely futile and only results in anger.

user, I've read tons of political theory books: Anthem, See I Told you by Rush Limbaugh.

/pol/'s general IQ declined about two standard deviations since mid 2015. Had you stopped by back then, you might've had some relevant discussion.

But you chose now.

>2016 Americal elections
>All candidates are shit
>Shiiiittt
>Here's this corrupt cunt who got away with crimes, is essentially the SJW representative candidate, and is married to a rapist who got away with his crimes
>Here's this socialist cuck who would geniuinely destroy the nation if he got elected and who got away with theft and fraud essentially
>Here's these third-party cucks who cannot do jack shit
>Here are a bunch of other faggots nobody cares about
>And here's this orange dumbass who is as bad as all the rest
>But he's great meme potential and will protect free speech better than the rest
It's alright user. Don't feel bad. You made the right choice, even if it was a shitty choice. All choices were shit, and you chose the least shit.

Political liberalism is literally an expanded version of theory of justice

I made the guide in OP, I just basically copied an into polisci syllabus and filled in a couple gaps. I'll probably update it soon, Hegel onwards needs some cleaning up. I'd also probably narrow Marx down to a couple essays.
