Why do the covers of Wuthering Heights look so eerie and gothic? Isn't it a cuddly froo froo romance for girls ?

Fair enough, it always seemed like a girly book from what I heard but i do love a good tragedy
i'm not sharing a book, give me a personal recommendation or fuck off
Here you go Paul
Yeah, it's quite an eerie and gothic tale.
It has more romanticism than romance, with ghosts and several people romantically dying every second. The love in the novel is portrayed as self-destructive. It also has a little-implied racism throughout the novel, with Heathcliff coming from a port-town and being described as "gypsy-looking". It is set in Yorkshire, so people talk and act grimly there as well.
